Location was brilliant, setback one street from the beach, perfect as the road in front of the beach is busy so buildings there I suspect get a lot of road noise. Palihouse is very close for walking to the Promenade for shopping. Hotel itself was lovely, great staff, great ambience, loved the decor and the amenities, the room was very...

It was my second time in the LA area and for some reason I prefer to stay around Santa Monica. I picked the Pailhouse this time (Memorial Day 16) and really had a great time here. I loved the uniqueness of the decor, the friendly service, and the spacious room. Location just can't be beat, right in the middle of...

The hotel is small enough for the staff to recognize you personally. In a quiet residential neighborhood, but only a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Santa Monica and a 2 minute walk to the beach. Could not emphasize the beauty of the historical building itself and the tasteful touches Palihouse has done to it to make it...

We've visited LA twice, and chose to stay at the same hotel both times. Why? It's not a chain hotel with hundreds of rooms. It's located in a quiet residential area but only a few minutes' walk from great shopping, great food, the beach as well as bus/rail services. Our room was spacious and comfortable - the bathroom may be...

A great experience in the heart of Santa Monica. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We were upgraded at no cost and really enjoyed our room with its vintage dressing room and small kitchen/diner. Great views and amazing lobby.

Excellent boutique type hotel with very friendly staff. Clean and very comfortable beds. Perfect location for the 10 mins walk to 3rd prom for lively restaurant's bars and shops. Bonus of a buffet style breakfast at weekend was a treat. No licence but you can bring in your own and sit in the lounge or garden. Overall excellent stay.

The Palihouse Santa Monica is a delightful place to stay, tucked away on a quiet street but just a couple blocks off the hubbub of Willshire Blvd. Among many neighboring hotels, this is my choice every time, because of the beautiful and classic rooms - each one with its own character - and the kind staff. I only wish there...

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
