I love love love this hostel. All staff was super friendly and I mean friendly from believing in it and not fake friendly if u know what I mean. It was clean! I loved the inner yard to have breakfast or any other meal, which...More
Ideally located near to the Santa Monica Pier, Third Street Promenade, and quite a few bars and restaurants. The organized activities are also fun and diverse; from hikes, bar crawls, stand-up comedy, and more.
The hostel itself is not a bad place. Nice building, great location and nice staff. But my bed was like sleeping on an old scaffolding tower. Couldn’t move a muscle without the thing sounding like it was going to fall apart and it creaked so...More
Clean, good location in Santa Monica. Did not have a car (which was a mistake of course), but the metro took me to Beverly Hills. DTLA and Malibu.
A lot less social hostel than HI New York, and less and not as good events.

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

Suggest you call them. I arrived in the morning and they let me store my luggage in a locked store room but I couldn't go to the room. I went shopping and returned a little earlier than the posted check-in time and they let me in because the room was ready early. If you're asking do they run late, I don't know. When I was there they were still remodeling various floor. It's a very well managed place.
