I was going to LAX to pick my niece and a friend up for a cruise over Christmas and decided since their plane was not getting in until late that we would just stay in a hotel and drive back to Capistrano Beach the next day to go on our Christmas cruise on the NCL Star. This hotel is right...

I had a very nice stay and loved the location. Room was nice in size, very clean and even had a decent wifi connection. I loved the park next door and how close it was to the Santa Monica Pier. I will stay there the next time I am in town

Took my 8 yr old granddaughter to Disneyland this summer and wanted to share 3rd Street Promenade with her as she is a bit of a singer and entertainer so I thought this would be entertainers heaven. Made no reservations and drove around the area we wanted to be until we saw this hotel had a vacancy. I was very...

This hotel is ideally located right in the centre of Santa Monica. Initially it seems quite expensive, but is a bargain compared to the other nearby hotels. Our room was relatively basic but clean, and in good condition. The reception staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. Has Wifi. Better to park in the car park between the hotel and...

If your first priority is easy access to Santa Monica pier & beach, this hotel is a good choice. If your first priority is a nice, up to date room, maybe look elsewhere on the Avenue. The beds are OK, the parking is OK, the air con is OK, but the prices are fairly steep for what is just an...

I stayed here for a week and had a fantastic time there. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Obviously it's not a five-star hotel, but for what you pay you get a nice place. The staff were super friendly and domestic staff did a good job cleaning my room everyday. It is in a great location to both...

My husband, myself and our three teenage grandchildren were supposed to stay at this DUMP for 5 nights, but after only one night we quickly checked out and went to the Hotel California across the street. the 2 bedroom suite was horrible. The smell was unbearable- very moldy. The main bedroom was a postage stamp. My husband had to crawl...

I have stayed at this hotel almost everytime I come to the LA/Santa Monica area. I love the simplicity of it and the location is perfect. It is so close to the beach and all kinds of shopping and great places to eat. The staff is knowledgeable of the area and very friendly. The rooms have everything I need. If...

The location of the hotel is just blocks from the Santa Monica Pier. Walking to the pier is perfect. The hotel staff are always inviting and helpful. They have gone through recent renovations that make it a jewel in Santa Monica. You are literally within walking distance of some fabulous restaurants, bars and the Third Street Promenade, all of which...

Santa Monica is a great place to stay in Los Angeles.Ocean lodge is located just few steps from the beach, right across the famous Santa Monica Pier, 5 minute walk from a nice promenade with shops and restaurants. The lodge has very nice, clean rooms. It's not the cheapest place to stay in LA but it's definitely worth it.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
