Concierge at check in was initially 'cold' but eventually 'warm up ' and was helpful. The staff that helped us with our luggages to the room was very helpful. The hallway to our room was noisy.

Stayed here for one night (wished it had been more). Got a king room with a balcony and so glad I did....sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down is a must. As for the room, very well proportioned - desk to work, a...More
We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica. Rooms are not the most modern, but are comfortable. Great location opposite the beach with nice view from our room towards the Pier. Very good breakfast at Fig Restaurant.

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

The Palisades room is larger and more European so that is just a preference (We liked it for size but the Signature is more modern). Not much noise if you are away from the elevator hall traffic. Tip: Call the front desk to ensure things are the way you want them either a day before or as soon as you check in at the hotel. If a light sleeper, bring the eye masks and earmuffs!

It looks as if the TripAdvisor community has done well with answering your question. My recommendation is if you are looking for space, since you are here for 7 days, then the Palisades suite or Signature Suite with an ocean view would be the best option. Now just so you are aware, the rooms in the Palisades building unfortunately do not come with a balcony. So, if a view and a balcony is important to you then I would recommend the Premiere Ocean View rooms. Should you need any further assistance, feel free to comment me back and I would be more than happy to help!
