Overall the property, the room, the location is incredible. You get what you pay for in that regard. However, the service was very disappointing. It was a wedding, so the hotel was 100% full but none the less, it seemed like the staff had a...More
The Hotel was extremely clean and well run. Staff was incredibly friendly and willing to help. I don't often travel to Los Angeles and the Staff helped me get around. Beautiful view of the Ocean from the Restaurant where I had Breakfast. I would stay...More
I stayed on the first floor and on nights 2-4, I heard them in the external wall and over the ceiling walking on the pipes back and forth. I called night manager and filed a complaint. They offered me a $300 credit and a free...More

As soon as we walked in the hotel, I was completely wowed. Definitely doesn't feel LA like. it made me feel like I'm in San Francisco! The Shutter next door is very chilled and laid back while this hotel definitely has the wow factor. We...More
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

Yes, there are several restaurants an easy to find mostly up near 3rd street. I would walk North to the pier. Nice pleasurable walk wide sidewalk on beach, but be aware of bicycles on the path. Some riders peddle rather fast. With lots of people around during daylight hours not a problem but use caution during the darkness. Lighting is adequate in evening hours but there are also many transient people looking for opportunities.
