This place is great for people of ALL ages! It is also quite accommodating for solos, couples, families and seniors. It is so up close and personal with many different types of animals - including giraffes, rhinos, cheetahs, cape buffalo, flamingos, zebras, an assortment of birds, monkeys and antelopes. We were there the 3rd week of May so we got...

We loved our stay, our tent cabin was very cozy. We are seniors but we saw lots of families, too. We where picked up from the parking area with our luggage and shuttled to our tent. Be sure to bring slippers for the bathroom as it is not heated, the floor is pretty chilly. Very comfortable bed. Good distance between...

400 hundred acres of African animals and birds. The 2 hour tour through the trails in a truck was amazing and very informative. One of the ostriches was guarding the gate of one of the areas. When we stopped to open it she came up to the truck. She was eye to eye with one of our group. She was...

The experience of spending the night at the park was unforgettable. The "tents" -- more like cabins, really-- are well appointed. The meal -- dinner -- was very professional and complete. Wine is available for purchase. The meal is certainly "wine worthy". There is a very complete continental breakfast in the morning. The tour is bumpy. Count on your guides...

I took my 5 year granddaughter today and what a wonderful experience we had. Ben was our guide and he really knew his animals. I highly recommend it to families. Closer to Calistoga if coming from Sacramento. Petrified Forrest and a geyser on the same road. You can even stay the night in a tent room.

My wife and I stayed at Safari West last night and took the tour this morning. I liked how we were taken to our tent cabin by jeep and helped with our luggage up the many stairs. Our tent cabin, number 29, overlooked a small lake, inhabited by various species of ducks and geese. From our deck we were able...

This place is incridible. A must place for the whole Family or wonderful weekend with your Spouse. We stayed in one of the tent cabin #23 in the back with a view of the lake and not so much animal noise. The safari ride was so cool. Try to ride up top for the first part, best view of the...

Second time to this place in 6 years, even better this time with many more animals. Glamping at its best although a bit cold given December. Food and service were great. Tour was a lot of fun and good for photos. Tents have heaters as well as heated blankets so you won't get cold.
