The place is called Safari West. It is a one of a kind experience and I think everyone should give it a shot (makes a great romantic getaway or even a birthday present). Spending the night on the property in these luxury tents and waking up to the animals is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Trust me when I...

My husband and I visited this week and I must admit I was a little skeptical at first. It's a pretty rustic setting, but the staff was very friendly and as soon as the tour started, we were drawn in. It was a great 3 hour tour... The group is small enough that you can easily interact with the guide....

My wife and I visited the second week in September. We started off the day with the safari prior to check in. The safari starts with a one hour walk through a large aviary with all sorts of exotic birds and other animals. Then we walked through the area of caged animals. These include several types of monkeys, (we saw...

After receiving a gift card for my family (2 adults, 2 kids ages 5 & 8) to do the 3 hour safari tour, we booked our tour for yesterday. Hubby and I have lived in Santa Rosa for 12 years and had never gone - we were missing out! The tour itself was amazing - we took turns riding on...

Glamping at its best. Running hot water, toilet, electricity and if you are ATT you have five bars of 4g lte service! Throw in wine, great food, and excellent staff and the flamingoes don't seem so bad. Bring ear plugs and bug spray though. Oh, and do the back tour to feed the animals, it was amazing!!!

Fun for the family. My daughter and I did the safari tour, spent the night in the "tent" and had the BBQ. It was a great experience and I recommend you do it at least once. Very fun. Earlier in the AM or late in the PM is usually best. Get's pretty hot! Fall is probably a good time. Summer...

The cabins do not have locks on the doors! This was a bit of a surprise. We had brought along iPads for entertainment on the drive and toted them with us everywhere (dinner, breakfast, strolling the grounds, jeep tour) as I was not going to leave expensive electronics in an unlocked room. Also, the lodge has a strong Wi-Fi signal;...

My husband and I stopped here during our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and helped us settle in immediately. Our room was fantastic- you feel like you're really on a safari, sleeping in a tent, but instead of the cold hard ground you get a big bed with a cozy heated blanket. Sitting...

This is just about the closest you'll probably get to having a safari adventure without going to Africa. I spent two days and one night at Safari West. It was a very unique experience, and nothing like I've ever had before. After you check in, you are taken by jeep to your tent (if staying over night). The tents are...

What a great place. This is a zoo, breeding ground, sanctuary, and lodging location with very personal touches. The owners have constructed the facilities out of love for the animals; the staff seems genuinely interested in the welfare of both the animals and visitors. The tents are all custom made using African canvas and have amazing details, including extremely comfortable...
