The hotel is older and in shows. The bed is very comfortable. The room is tight for two beds, a dresser, table, two chairs, and a pretty good sized fridge and microwave. This room is not suitable for obese guests. My father weighs 225 pounds and had to turn sideways to go from the bed to the bathroom, because the...

We stayed 2 nights whilst visiting the local area and found the hotel to be absolutely fine. It was very quiet, very few guests and although the furnishings were a little tired and in need of some updating, we couldn't fault the cleanliness of the towels and bed linen. We didn't use the pool, which was very small, but a...

I stayed two nights at this motel at a very reasonable rate. Room was very clean and comfortable. Extremely helpful, nice person at the front desk that even gave me a hug when I left. Would not have minded staying there longer but had made reservations elsewhere in same city which I thought about cancelling and when I recieve the...

My husband and I booked two nights at the Magic Carpet Lodge in April 2013. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel but decent and this fit the bill. We came a bit early hoping to put our bags in the room so we could check in for a conference in Monterey. The front desk check- in lady was friendly...

I needed a place to stay locally and close to my daughter's swim venue in the Seaside area for the weekend without breaking my budget and since we had to be at the pool very early in the morning, I was looking for someplace 'reasonable' which is hard to find in the Monterey Bay area. On very short notice (like...

I stayed at Magic Carpet Lodge in December 2012, and the desk staff was very friendly and professional. We checked in late at night and he went out of his way to help us out. He made the stay much nicer, and I just want to acknowledge is friendliness. Thank you!

MY 2 friends and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights mainly because we had to attend a conference in Monterey. FIrstly, the rates are incredibly low- yes I know it's not a 5 star resort but you can't beat that price for comfort. We had a little hiccup upon check-in because of a little misunderstanding but that was...

For the money, this place is a great find. Only minor issues exist and concern the fact that there are no facial tissues (kleenix) to be found meaning that you will have to run to the store or use the toilet paper (ugh). The rooms do not have (apparently) central heating but portable units are available. Also the breakfast has...

This place was clean, quiet, and the breakfast was quite nice, even though it is spread part in the lobby and part in a nice breakfast room. The assortment was nice - instant oatmeals, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereals, bread for toast, bagels with cream cheese, butter, or jam, fresh fruit, and the most delicious little mini muffins...

Quiet sleeping, high ceilings, clean, everything is working, very nice and responsive service at front desk. Very cheap for the quality also! I very much enjoyed this hotel. It is 10 minutes by car from Monterey and the ocean, but otherwise is very nice place.
