Had a family emergency that brought us to the area. Arrived in the area late in the evening and asked around for a nice place to stay. A kind Nurse named Melanie in Buchans called up the Inn and got a hold of the Inn keeper Russ. The staff all rallied to prepare a meal for my family and provided lovely rooms for us to stay for two nights. Food was simple and wonderfully prepared. Property was quaint and very clean. Staff (Russ, Shirley and Kay) were a delight. Definitely a place I would stay again… except longer. Perfect base camp for Hunters in the Autumn.
We had a wonderful time at the Inn! Russ (the owner) was more than nice! From the minute we stepped in the house we felt welcomed! We felt just like at home! It was amazingly clean and organized. Everything was awesome, our 4 year old loved it there, there were lots of games for kids, a big living room , lots of room in the kitchen. The home-cooked meal was to die for *(I would have paid 50$ a plate for it) . There was a fireplace with lots of wood available! I recommend it to anyone, the staff is awesome and so is the house!!!
Millertown on the beauiful Red Indian Lake is a wonderfull place to visit. Our one night stay at Lakeview Inn was so comfortable and welcoming I would recommend it 100%. Russ and his staff were fabulous and the communal dinning area means that you meet and chat with other patrons even making connections with some. Thank you
My husband, cousin and I were on a Genealogy Quest and stayed overnight at the Lakeview Inn. It was a great experience. Russ Squires, the Inn's Operator, offered to bring us on a tour of Millertown and we all piled in to his vehicle. He drove us around the town and then out to Red Indian Point to see the Beothuk Interpretation site. We were curious to see inside the Church and the local Museum which weren't open at the time but Russ made a couple of calls and keys magically appeared to allow us access. Russ was a wealth of information about the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the dinner (served family style) was excellent. ($15 extra and they also can make up boxed lunches for a fee if you want one) Home cooked pork roast and all the fixings including Mustard pickles. Way better than 'restaurant' food. Our double room was $115/night which also included a Continental breakfast.(Homemade Partridgeberry jam to go with toast!) Free wifi which worked really well. Upon our departure Russ gave us a jar of "Moose Meat". How's that for amenities? Loved it! This is a beautiful part of Central Newfoundland and if you're in the area....stay here! It's a great spot!…
We had the pleasure of staying at Lakeview Inn for two days in June 2019.. Immediately on arrival Russ, the owner, made us feel welcome showing us the amenities around the Inn. Our first evening we had attended a fire with other patrons of the hotel. It made for a enjoyable evening getting to know fellow travelers including the owner. We also enjoyed an evening of cards from an upstairs game table which provided up a splendid view of Red Indian Lake. Comfortable clean rooms with sufficient bathroom facilities. Delicious home cooked suppers were experienced in a comfortable family atmosphere. Convenient continental breakfast was also provided. The owner was attentive to our needs and offered us up suggestions to make our stay more enjoyable All in all a great experience.
I recommend this bed and breakfast very highly. The owner and his staff made us feel completely at home with a comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast. Mr. Squires even took us on a tour of Millertown, including the beach, hiking trail and museum. The pride he shows in his property and his community is evident as he welcomes his guests.
I recently visited this hotel and the experience was remarkable. I was looking for a unique experience for my 15 year old son and his friend to escape video games and see parts of this great province that many are not familiar with. For anyone that has not visited the interior of Newfoundland it offers many remarkable sights. Star gazing with minimal light pollution, large lakes, pristine forests, wildlife, and a sense of community that can only be experienced in a such a setting. The hotel was amazing with great food, friendly atmosphere and beautiful rooms. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something different.
Great location beautiful view of the 2nd largest Lake in NL, Red Indian Lake. 12 of us together great meal when we arrived, great evening watching the sunset. Great rooms, clean neat great breakfast. Snack for our trip home. All around 12 out of a 10 rating.
We have stayed at the Lakeview in several times and I love our stay every time. We always feel welcomed as soon as we arrive, Barb and Terry are very accommadting. The inn has a cozy atmosphere and plenty of room. The food is delicious and service is bar none. We visited in March 2017 during the brier (and a pretty good snow storm) for an annual snowmobile trip with three other couples. We ventured out into the weather for a couple of hours for our ride and once we returned we all gathered in the family/common room to snuggle up to watch some of the Brier. Barb brought us all blankets to keep cozy and warm while she prepared a fantastic supper. The inn is located on Red Indian Lake and has a beautiful view. I would recommend this place anyone.
