We've enjoyed KOA camping for years and the Shingletown KOA goes immediately to the top of our list to frequently return to. Situated in the Ponderosa pine forests off I 5 on Highway 44 just 30 miles of Redding, CA, is the campground that staff tell me is ranked third of the over 400 KOAs in America and Canada. I...

Like a lot of the newer KOA' , this one seems to want to impress. Quiet roomy spaces for RV parking, they even had wifi hot spots mounted on towers throughout the campground although being out of normal broadband infrastructure, they attempt with a radio link which works for email and Facebook, they tell you this upfront. Has laundry room...

I attended a Lance Camper Rally in late Sept early October. It is a nice size and comfortable. The pool was closed yet it was still hot...Maybe next year they will keep it open for the rally. The highway is good leaving out of Redding and to the east when I left to head to GCRR. All the questions below...

What a fantastic KOA campground! We stayed in the small adorable cabin which has 1 big bed and a bunk bed. It has nice windows and a screen door. They provide the pillows. There is also a porch with a swing. There is a great picnic table outside with a cutting board attached. There is a gas bbq nearby but...

We stayed here for 2 nights and wished we booked it for more. It is close to Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park (13 miles to entrance). Staff was very friendly. Lots of amenities, including a pool, dog park, volleyball court, basketball hoop, play area for kids, walking paths, and more. Very family friendly. Clean and well-maintained. Small store with items...

Really happy to stay at this site, everything about it was great. Staff were immensely polite and welcoming. They were helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. The sites were well spaced out, the pool was great. I was also really impressed with the play areas and outdoor activities, including a whole volleyball court. No negative points to make at...

We have just returned from the Mt. Lassen KOA for the fifth time. We love it here! We actually travel from Vancouver, BC pretty much every year and on several occasions have made our destination this KOA. The owners clearly embrace their role and treat the guests as family. The amenities here are always clean and kept updated. There is...

This was the second time we stayed here as we use it as a stopping point on camping trips. The staff are always friendly, the kids enjoy the pool and they even have a little dog playground. Also a nice spot to explore Lassen National Park if you prefer more amenities than the primitive park campgrounds offer.

Stayed here for two nights to explore Lassen. We were in Cabin #4, tiny but perfect for our family of four. We especially appreciated the gas grill, and the cabin had everything else we needed (kitchen, fridge, dishes, linens, etc). We enjoyed the pool and other activities (especially the four-person bike for cruising around the campground). Staff was super friendly...

We were camping there with a tent. The site was shaded and big enough but next to a gargantuan RV with the air conditioning at full blast. Terrible noise, couldn't sleep. Avoid when you're not in one of those monsters! So much for a nature experience....
