The Lansby hotel is a great find! It has wonderful clean modern design, nice restaurant and bar. The lobby gathering area lends itself to lingering and spending time with friends. The rooms are large and very stylish. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. We are looking forward to a return visit!

The Landsby was one of the main reasons my boyfriend and I visited Solvang. The quality of the hotel was excellent and the staff was very helpful. I spoke to Nikea (sp?) on the phone several times before my stay with my boyfriend and she was very accommodating. She put us in a very quiet Deluxe King room, that had...

We really enjoyed our stay this week at the Landsby. We have been going to Solvang for years but this was our favorite trip in large part due to the hotel. It's clean, modern, pet friendly and perfectly located. We will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed the modern and warm Scandinavian design, we slept well, the bathroom facilities are nice, there is free internet, the personnel is friendly and the location of the hotel is practical. However, there were a few details we noted: There were long black hairs from our predecessors on the floor and in the bathroom. Also, the hotel is...

The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable and in a good location.. The restaurant was closed when we were there but we found a pub serving food opposite. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Staff helpful and friendly. Would definitely staff here again.

This small hotel is perfectly located in Solvang. It is walking distance to all of the major locations. Parking is free. The lobby is cute. Our standard 2 beds room was perfect for our family of 4. We didn't experience the noise issues that others have mentioned. The room decor was fun and unique without being cheesy. The continental breakfast...

We stayed in Room 39, which was large, nicely appointed, included a canopy framed bed, and was very comfortable. A bedside lamp on each side of the bed would have been nice. We had to turn the light off and walk across the room in the dark to go to bed. In the morning, I came down to get some...

This hotel is clean and well appointed. Rooms, lobby and decor are lovely. Two negatives: 1) The walls are paper thin--be prepared to hear everything that is said and done outside the room and courtyard and 2) the continental breakfast is really pathetic--small danish and little muffins, juice, coffee and granola. I would have preferred some yogurt and fruit. You...

From the moment I stepped into the Lansby I was impressed by the soothing European spa feeling of the decor. Food was fantastic. Beds so comfy. Cocktails great (and a happening happy hour with locals a-plenty).

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Landsby, a 41-room boutique hotel, brings a unique hospitality offering to Solvang. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the property combines a bright contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town's Danish roots. The Landsby, which means "the village" in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The welcoming lobby and bar have a lively atmosphere and makes for the perfect place to enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally-produced wine. The bright and welcoming guestrooms, including several junior suites and our signature tower suite, is finished with blonde woods, brushed brass fixtures, genuine leather accents and sophisticated, yet comfortable, handcrafted furnishings. The rooms feature whimsical artwork commissioned by a regional artist and thoughtful accessories, which work together to create a residential ambiance. All guests have access to the property's outdoor garden lounge. It provides an oasis for guests to relax and unwind among lush landscaping and romantically lit trees. Additionally, the property serves as an ideal retreat for meetings, with multiple meeting venues offering a total of 2980 square feet. The property also provides full-service amenities, catered meals from the restaurant, as well as access to courtyard and garden areas that can be used for breaks. Mad & Vin, the hotel's restaurant, is inspired by the local wine region of the California coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to "food and wine" in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel's Scandinavian inspiration. Our Executive Chef creates dishes that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant offers dinner Tuesdays - Sundays days in addition to daily breakfast. Complimentary breakfast is included for all hotel guests. Located 35 miles northeast of Santa Barbara, The Landsby is centrally located in downtown Solvang and steps away from boutique shops, bakeries, art galleries, sidewalk cafes, wine-tasting rooms, and restaurants. ... more   less
