Decent for a clean place to sleep for one night.
PROS
Nice office staff who called us when our room was ready. Check in is 2 pm. She called at 1:50
Fantastic location within walking distance to most everything
Voucher for continental breakfast at Olsens Bakery across the street. Juice coffee danish and a bread roll per person
Nice to have microwave and refrigerator with a small freezer
Very clean and friendly housekeepers
CONS
Rooms towards the front have lots of street noise
Parking lot lights on all night so with only blinds the room was light. Black out drapes would solve that
Rooms have been renovated but they still need updating to accommodate all the electronics people carry with them now
Bathroom is small and the fan and heat light are not wired correctly. Both had to be on to work
King bed was comfortable but one side creaked so ever time that person moved you heard it.

Thank You for staying with us. We are at this time working on an update that is to include new window coverings and new windows to help with the road noise. We hope you will come back when we get the upgrade finished.

Heated pool and whirlpool were a good 200 feet from the Inn so the cool air prevented us from using it. Voucher for breakfast across the street provided a great Danish breakfast. Wi Fi was out and the manger wasn't available until the next morning to reset it.

We stayed in the cottages. They are quaint, cute and very clean. We had a great view of the pool area. The room came with a coffee maker, microwave, toaster & fridge. The bed was comfy but came with feather pillows which are not my preference. It does seem to be an older room, not because it is in ill repair - it was lovely, but because there are very few outlets. You also receive a coupon to get a continental breakfast at the danish bakery across the street. We just don't start the day with danish so we skipped it - I wonder if I could have used it later in the day... We could walk to dinner and other shops. Lovely little town.

The one good thing about this hotel/motel was Julie who managed the front desk. She was helpful and cheerful. If not for her I would give this a zero. We came up to Solvang to get away for a few days and had looked at some of the reviews on this property and thought we would give it a try. First impression is that the outside looks nice and centrally located in Solvang. They also provide you with a continental breakfast across the street at Olsen’s bakery, it is very good. Now the bad. There is construction being done on one of the units in the front which was basically just across from where we stayed and it was a constant noise from 8 o’clock in the morning until 5 PM. This was not indicated when we were doing the reservation. The rooms are very small and the bathroom is no larger then a broom closet. we honestly could’ve put up with that but for the fact that the room smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long while…so I kept the window or door open all the time to get fresh air. The water took 10 minutes to heat up in both shower and sink. Now for the bed…get new mattresses before someone sues you for an injury, yes that bad. I really wish I could have given them a better review but I’m way too old to lie about these things. Unless they redo the rooms, Find yourself another property to stay at. I can’t speak to the quality of the cottages, so that may ne their saving grace.

Such a cute place to stay. Stayed Labor Day weekend and it was very hot. We stayed in the main building and the air conditioner worked great! It is a motel with so much character. We received a package of danish cookies from Olsen's Danish Bakery across the street. The motel also gives you a voucher for a complimentary Danish breakfast from the same bakery and boy is it good and filling. The bed was comfy amd the owners are very nice. Irons and boards must be retrieved from the front desk and parking is tight but we had no problem finding parking when we arrived and after returning from dinner. The location is perfect with lots of restaurants, wineries and shops within walking distance. Be sure to go down the street behind the motel as there are many more shops off the main street.

The price we paid was very reasonable given the extras and he holiday weekend. We will definitely be back.

We needed a place to stay and this hotel was the only one with vacancy. Upon arrival you know this is not going to be a 4 star hotel, however I did not realize how bad it would be. Check in was a touch screen where I was rushed by the attendant to initial next to items that I was trying to read and see what I was signing for. He was hurrying me to "initial here, here and here..." and came around the partition to help move me along when I was actually reading through them. One was "no pets" which we didn't have, but our room smelled like cat piss when we opened the door so I don't understand their pet policy. We tried switching rooms but it was the only one available and it was late at night so we were stuck. There is no elevator for the second floor and the desk clerk did not offer to help lug anything upstairs. It was a chilly night out when we arrived yet somehow, the interior of our guest room was sweltering. We could not get the AC to work and the attendant had to come turn it on. The ancient wall mount he was telling us to use was not working and he had to do something to the unit hidden behind a table. We had to leave the room and explore the mostly closed town in order for it to cool down. Once it did, it was freezing and when you tried to lower it, the room was right back to hot. One of the comforters was stained. There was trash from a previous guest on the floor. The plumbing worked but needs to be addressed. The toilet had to be flushed 3 times to get anything down. The sink fills up almost immediately and the shower head was about chest level making it very difficult to wash your hair. The TV was only static. NO channels worked. It was like watching The Ring all over again. Not sure why they had one in the room. I didn't even care about the completely outdated decor, phone, bedding, everything else, because there were so many other issues. We spent as little time in there as possible and left first thing in the morning. I was barely able to sleep. Between the smell, the hot room, poor service, this is the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced.

We stayed in Cottage 114 and had two private parking spaces. It was over 100 F degrees and the AC worked really well! The cottage had a great sitting area with a little kitchenette (mini fridge, sink, and two electric burners). We enjoyed the pool and the daily vouchers for breakfast (choice of pastry, bread with cheese, orange juice and choice of coffee or tea) across the street (Olsen's). The reception staff were informative and answered our questions. The best thing about this hotel is the location. You are central to all the tourist spots.

We stayed in a family suite as a family of 5 for 1 night. This was spacious. The staff were very friendly at check-in & gave us some biscuits :-) We had a voucher for breakfast the next morning at the bakery across the road which was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed having a walk around Solvang during the evening, there were lots of restaurants within walking distance and we were provided with a map from the check-in desk. A great stay, thank you!

This place has a great location, and well worth the money. It may not be fancy, but the staff is great, the location is great and you will not be sorry. It's just a few minutes walk away from all the restaurants and wine tasting you want. public parking if you need it is only steps away.

We chose the least expensive room at this hotel as we were traveling on business. The description was "cozy" so I warned my husband this means small. The room was just fine. Two comfortable beds. TV clear and loud and had a refrigerator and microwave. The lady that greeted us was very friendly. We got a voucher from her for breakfast at the Danish bakery across the street. It said a hard roll and pastry and drink offerings we so we didn't expect much but the breakfast was amazing. The coffee delicious and the food so plentiful we brought our rolls and butter and cheese in the car and made sandwiches on the trip for lunch. Everything about this stay was perfect. What a charming town and this was perfect.

As I stated in my original post, the staff was very friendly and sharing. The beds are a personal thing. I prefer a firmer mattress and had no problem with them. If you are wanting to sleep on a cloud.. this place may not be for you. They have normal stuff that is super clean and I would and probably will stay there again.
