My wife and I just got to spend a couple of days at your property and we were simply blown away. Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort has a lot to offer from golfing to horseback riding, tennis, spa, hiking and much more. Our accommodation was spacious and well furnished, offered a private porch and living room with two sofas that...

Two friends & I spent the weekend here for the first time. It is like another world - scenic, peaceful, relaxing, wholesome. We did the breakfast horseback ride that was fabulous - saw deer & coyote. We hiked the trail, swam in the lovely fresh water pool, did line dancing. We enjoyed the great service, comfortable & spacious room, and...

We had the pleasure of staying at the ranch during a quiet week so it felt like our own place. The staff was very friendly particularly the guys who work the activities on and near the lake. The morning breakfast ride was a real highlight. We saw lots of wildlife during our time out on the ranch including a bear,...

Amazing spot for family vacations. Alisal has something for everyone. Golf, tennis, swimming, spa, fishing, horseback riding, hay rides, bingo! The best part for us moms is that Alisal includes breakfast and dinner with your room. The food is delicious with lots of options for different dietary concerns.

Was our first visit to the Alisal up from Los Angeles for a long weekend to celebrate my son's birthday. He's into riding. We don't golf, and it was too hot the weekend we went to play tennis, so excluding those from the review. Starting with the accommodations, we got one of the renovated rooms and they were very nice,...

Our first family vacation to Adisal Guest Ranch was an incredible experience for our entire family. I have two teenagers and both found something they enjoyed from golfing to horseback riding and fishing. Incredible staff, particularly Mark and Mitch at the Lake. Both of these guys are the definition of what guest services is all about. They treated my 17...

We really like the Alisal Guest Ranch - this was our fourth year returning, and our kids look forward to it so much we keep coming back. The rooms are nothing super-special, but are comfortable and clean, and the one bedroom suite works really well for a family of four where the adults want some privacy. The food is superior....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort is located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley and renowned Santa Barbara County wine country. Privately owned and operated since 1946, the Alisal is a working cattle ranch and full-service resort. This historic ranch is one of four original Spanish land grants on the west coast given to conquistador Raimundo Carrillo in the late 1700’s. Today, the romance and majesty of the old west remain in the wide-open spaces and unspoiled natural beauty of the Alisal. They serve as a reminder of simpler times and as an invitation to those with a taste for adventure. As California's premier guest ranch, the Alisal transports guests back to a bygone era. Set on a 10,000-acre working cattle ranch, this one-of-a-kind resort blends the best of nature with exceptional golf, horseback riding, tennis, fishing on a 100-acre private lake, fitness center and spa, children's activities, barnyard activities and fine dining. ... more   less
