We spent two weekday nights here. Everything was topnotch! We walked to the Sonoma Plaza each evening for dinner (Girl and Fig was fantastic as always). Only meal at the hotel was breakfast; food and service were good, and Layla is a pretty dining room.
My wife and I recently celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at MacArthur Place and were blown away by the property! The staff are some of the nicest and friendliest I have come across in all my travels. We stayed in room 27 and it was fantastic. It had a big patio outside and an outdoor shower! The bed was very comfortable and there were a bunch of items in the room that came free of charge! We both had massages and they were fantastic. Top 5 and I have had a lot of massages in my time. We unfortunately did not eat at Layla on this trip but I have in the past and it was really good. We ate out for each meal as we wanted to try a bunch of restaurants we had heard we need to check out as we live 45 minutes away from Sonoma. We did have a glass or two at the bar of Layla and the staff there were fantastic. Again...I would highly suggest MacArthur Place!…
every space in this property was very well thought of, the design and aesthetics are impeccable and screams luxury!! we are very excited to come back after the renovations and experience that pool and spa amenities
Beautiful grounds and gorgeous rooms - staff is warm, helpful, and always goes the extra mile. The suites are spacious and have great decor. Room service is delicious and reliable. Within walking distance of downtown Sonoma, which has more great food and tasting rooms.
The gym was closed. No yoga class & I was never told this when making my reservation when I had specifically asked about it. Had I known I would’ve made reservations elsewhere. Otherwise it is a nice hotel. Just very disappointing.
Of the various hotels and resorts we were considering in Napa & Sonoma, MacArthur Place seemed like the best value in the higher end category... so we went with it. It was the absolute right choice. Our trip was between Christmas & New Years, so their pool closure for renovations and it not being a full resort didn't have any impact on our stay. Instead we found some of the best service I've had in recent travels, starting with being greeted at the drive and then escorted to our room by Sebastian. The room itself was beautifully decorated and appointed. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and our breakfast and dinner at Layla. The property itself is lovely and quite large considering its location near the Sonoma square, which is walkable (try dinner at El Dorado Kitchen up there). Overall we were thrilled with this choice and look forward to coming back in warmer weather!…
Thank you to all the staff and Management for a wonderful experience. I appreciated being accommodated in the restaurant as I am celiac. Attention to detail was impeccable and I will definitely recommend MacArthur Place Hotel to family and friends. Thank you!
I’ve bookmarked this hotel for the longest time and was waiting for prices to drop to give them a try. When it did we jumped on it. We got an amazing deal on 2 premium suites, and we are even more grateful for the hotel for accommodating our request for an en-suite tub. Beautiful grounds with manicured lawns and fire pits dotted along the pathways—just a little smaller than I imagined. The pool and gym was closed off due to construction but I’m not one to use those facilities, so didn’t matter to me. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated —gives off a modern cabin feel, especially when you have the fireplace lit-up. It was a nice touch that they provided complementary snacks, coffee, and water. Supposedly, most of the rooms have been renovated but you are already seeing some wear and tear in the bathroom (shower tiles). My only gripe is the parking situation, if you want to self park you’ll have to park your car on the streets (I saw plenty of parking spaces by the staffs parking lot, not sure why those can’t be used). Would I stay again? Only when there’s a deal.…
Everything was top-notch! Very thoughtfully designed with privacy in mind, walkways with abundant botanicals brimming with pleasant aromas around every corner. Great old world feel with every modern amenity you could need. I highly recommend getting a suite with the outdoor shower, it is well worth it. We are already planning our return trip back. Thanks so much!
Stayed at MacArthur on my last business trip to Sonoma. The hotel is located very close to the heart of Sonoma and a short walk to the square. Everything was exceptional, especially loved the staff. I will bring my wife on my next trip.
