Rented cabins1 and 4 number for a few nights. Great facility and anything you would need. Also important for me was the quality of the bedding.. They even have their own wine store and food available during business hours. It’s only 1 mile from the Square so for me a perfect location.
We greatly enjoyed our four nights at the Sonoma’s Best Guest Cottages. While somewhat familiar with Sonoma, we had not stayed or visited the market prior. The four cottages are behind the store along Napa Street with off street parking. When we arrived, the cottage was all set for us - lights on, furnished with nice linens, towels, and comfy robes. Bathroom is nice, with adequate standup shower. Sitting area a really nice bonus. We stayed in #1 cottage that features two large bedrooms, one bath and well equipped kitchen. The kitchen offers full sized appliances, including the coffee maker - much appreciated! Wifi is good along with cable tv - the tv is nice, but didn’t use it. Location is perfect for us, as it’s close to town square, and all the wineries we enjoy. Plus, it’s an easy 15 min drive to Glen Ellen or 30 min to Yountville. We enjoy morning jogs, and found the neighborhoods and vineyards nearby percent for a morning run. The market is a great feature. But, its hours are short (may be because of Covid) - 8 am to 2 pm, so we only stopped in during the morning. The store is a jewel with an array of prepared food, nice wine shop, beers, gelato, and gifts. A few suggestions. The parking - assigned - is tight. So, a smaller vehicle a good idea. Patio for cottage #1 is small and needs some love. But the beautiful and shared garden is very close and suited us fine. When we needed something repaired or supplied, the guest services team were prompt, courteous, capable to take care of us perfectly. In all, we enjoyed our visit and our stay at. We will be back.…
Very nice cottages - much more room that I expected in Cottage #1. We had a couple of minor problems which the owner took care of immediately. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, a basket of goodies on our small dining table, and charcuterie on a cutting board in the fridge. We enjoyed the small garden area across from our unit where we sat with wine and talked with our daughters and their partners, and our unit was large enough for us all to comfortably have a game night in the living room with 6 adults. The cottages are right behind a small store/deli which was great for quick snacks and forgotten items. Highly recommend and will be back. Some reviews said you could walk to town, but the road has heavy traffic, too much for me to feel safe walking and it seemed to be about a mile, (didn't measure it, just felt like the distance was a mile or more).…
Last March I made a reservation at Sonoma's Guest Cottages for this weekend (Labor Day) through their website and I received a confirmation email and a confirmation number. This morning I called to say that we would be arriving after 6 pm and they told me that they didn't have our reservation.....I forwarded the confirmation email and number and then they said that this reservation had actually gone through an online booking site they stopped using a week before I made our reservation. Who knows how many other people might be in our situation. You presume that when you make a reservation through a hotel website that you have actually made a reservation. But if you made a reservation here last March you may not have a reservation at all. They were, of course, apologetic and said they had tried to find us alternate accommodations but everywhere was full since it was a three day weekend. I went to hotels.com and got an alternate reservation immediately so I guess they didn't try very hard. We won't be staying at cute little cottages but at least we have a place to sleep. We are in a wedding in Sonoma this weekend so just canceling our trip was not an option.…
So my husband and I stayed in Cottage #4 for 2 nights. First off - the personal touches were great! There were yummy breakfast goodies left in the fridge, two bottles of water and a cookie. We opted in for their VIP program and it was worth it. The cheese and meat platter was great, with a baguette and a bottle of wine. We also visited 4 wineries on their VIP list. It is just outside of town, but walkable. We had dinner at The Girl and the Fig and were able to walk back no problem. Some issues with Cottage 4: The shower is very tiny. I am 5' 7" and I felt I was the perfect max height to enjoy the shower. Its also narrow - think European style. If you are a larger person - I think it will be very tight as I hit my elbow washing my hair. Private deck is nice...however have view of the parking lot.... Iron board was broken and almost landed on my husbands foot when it collapsed - which would have not been good for a on your feet trip. Overall recommend for the personal touches. The deli is also tasty!…
LOVED this place. I found this online and picked it because of the good reviews, especially because every review said it was clean and that’s important to us. It was spotless, adorable and the perfect Distance from Sonoma. You could walk to town and we loved the little store/deli/wine tasting right in our backyard. We asked for a bottle of wine and a charcuterie tray upon arrival. the Chardonnay was delicious and the snack just what we needed after long hours of travel. They left breakfast in the refrigerator with wonderful coffee and we enjoyed a leisurely morning in our own cottage. If you were planning to stay in wine country, I highly recommend this place
These cottages are lovely - very well furnished and cared for with parking right outside. We loved the welcome goodies and breakfast basket from the deli next door which got our day off to a great start. The only downside is they are a little further from town than I would have liked but we had a car so could still get to restaurants easily.
Make sure you understand that you cannot cancel any reservation with this place without a significant (and frankly ridiculous) fee. Given that it's difficult to find lodging any time of the year in Sonoma, charging a full night's fee, especially if cancelling over 2 months in advance is just ridiculous. We've stayed at this place twice and really liked it. We stay in Sonoma at least 4 times per year, and unfortunately, because of the cancellation policy we will cross it off our list in the future.
We stayed in a cottage for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautiful countryside setting and just a short drive to downtown, stores, restaurants etc. Very clean and comfortable. Next time, I would consider staying longer, making it our base for the entire week. Full kitchen could save time and money for some meals. Our host left a few treats on the counter and in the fridge, that was a pleasant surprise!
We booked the Winder Moon cottage and it was great. The freebies we has on arrival were really appreciated, very nice food, especially the chocolate biscuit! The cottage was lovely, cosy and great for 2 people. We had an outside space where we used the sun loungers and the table to eat during the afternoon. We were able to check in 1 hour earlier thanks to the staff who was very accommodating, would definitely go back. We also walked to the centre of Sonoma in 20 minutes so that is completely feasible :)
