Great location, a mile from the square. While the building is not much to look at, this is a gem of a property. The room was spacious, quiet, very comfortable. Larger bathroom, and a good size balcony. The staff was amazing; friendly, attentive and welcoming. The continental breakfast; great coffee, fresh fruits, cereals, breads and pastries - just perfect to get the day started. While not a luxury property, this place is very clean, very comfortable and well priced. Definitely would stay again.

I travel a fair amount and stay at hotels all over the world. I think this is independently owned and operated, which is becoming less common.

This hotel was top notch from check in to check out. I couldn’t believe the attention to detail from the lobby, breakfast, room, gym, and grounds. Every employee was friendly and took such pride in this hotel. I saw the gardeners laying down cloth in the beds so the trimmings would not get in the flower beds.

The rooms were ultra clean, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was really nice. The location is great.

I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here next time. It has the touches of a small, boutique hotel but is larger and inexpensive. Kudos to them!

Hello Katie and Flint N, Thank you so much for taking the time a writing us such a wonderful review! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with! El Pueblo Inn has been in the same family since it was built in the 50's, with the 3rd generation running it currently. They will absolutely love hearing you enjoyed their small touches around the property! We hope to see you the next time you are in the area!

Great location very close to the center of town. We had a car, but you could walk or take one of several bikes they offer their guests.

We had a second level balcony fireplace room, which was clean albeit a little plain. They offer a fresh morning breakfast of bagels, muffins, cereals, hard boiled eggs, quiche etc. Enough to get you started but if you’re looking for a full breakfast option, again there are plenty of restaurants nearby (less than 4 minute drive).

Even in late November, the hotel jacuzzi by the heated pool was a very nice perk.

We spent 5 nights at this location while we were recently evacuated from the Oakmont community in Santa Rosa . The staff were very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed out room and the interior gardens (beautiful Palm trees, etc.) were soothing and peaceful. The swimming pool was immaculate in spite of all the smoke and the green lawns wit table were nice to sit at and have lunch.
We will suggest this venue to visiting friends in the future.

My wife and I stayed at the El Pueblo Inn for two nights last week. We loved this place. It's funny to refer to something as a resort MOTEL but that's what it felt like. The motel itself feels like it's right out of the 70's with a very California style to it. All the rooms are accessible from the outside in a typical motel fashion. The rooms are nice, clean and fairly updated. Ours had a fireplace with a couple of recliner chairs and a small TV with plenty of room, including a balcony overlooking a center courtyard. The staff were all very friendly and there was a fairly basic continental style breakfast available, with cereals, muffins, toast, coffee and juice, etc. But the sparkle of this place is the grounds. The center courtyard had a rainforest feel to it and there was a beautiful heated pool and hot tub that was amazing, with two of the most perfect palm trees overlooking. They go to great lengths to maintain the beauty of the property. We would definitely stay there again and you should too!

We liked our stay here. The rooms are bigger than I expected and well furnished, with a balcony that looks over a central courtyard area. The location is great - a 15 minute walk into town. The staff were friendly and service was good. Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy the hot tub but hopefully next time! I would definitely stay here again.

Although this place is not cheap, it has some great amenities. Very densely planted public courtyard area that looks like a Caribbean resort. Nice swimming pool and high fence between you and Rte 12... some traffic noise, but the highway is out of view. Rooms were fine, but if you are elderly, make sure you get a room on the ground floor since there is no elevator and the stairs are steep (2nd floor wasn't a problem for us even though we're 76). Very wide food choice for their complementary breakfast including quiches, muffins, cereal, all kinds of breads, croissants, fruit, etc. You can grab as much as you like. It's a great location only a few blocks from Sonoma Plaza, and right on the CA 12 highway that zooms you up to all the wineries in the County. We'd stay here again.

What a nice place! This is an older hotel, but not the least bit tired. It has been kept up and is impeccable: wonderful courtyard and landscaping, very clean rooms, and the best continental breakfast I've had. I don't eat the breakfast offered at places like Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, etc. This has a really nice one with fresh squeezed orange juice, GOOD coffee from a local roaster, fresh berries. And you can eat outside with the great landscaping.

The rooms are oversized and there are four places you can read! real chairs and lamps. Bedside stands with lamp[s. Can you believe someone cares about where you site and how you can read in a hotel room? The furnishings are not fancy but tasteful. The people are great. And it is only a mile from the Plaza.

This place is clearly owned by a local family/group who are proud to offer great accommodations at a modest price. They don't try to compete with the local resorts all costing at least $200/night more. They just do a great job in their own niche. What a find. Highly recommended.

Pros: Great location, cute room with some architectural charm (exposed brick, old beams, etc), beautiful courtyard, nice complimentary breakfast.

Major Cons:

1. The Wifi was AWFUL. It barely even worked. It took forever to load a page, and often kicked us out. Emails stalled and didn't deliver until we were back in town during the day.

2. The walls are paper thin. We could hear the guy next door coughing as if he were sitting right in our own room.

3. One night the people in the room next door were extremely loud. We couldn't sleep. I called the front desk and nobody answered. I walked over to talk to the staff in person, and the front door was locked. A sign said, "Attendant on Duty, Please Ring Bell". I rang and rang, but nobody ever answered. So we were kept awake all night listening to the people in the next room, who were drunk, laughing and talking very loudly. When I talked to the front desk attendant the next morning, she gave us a $20 "Noisy Neighbor" discount, which seems inadequate for losing an entire night of sleep because the night staff weren't available when they should have been.

I traveled with a friend for a two-night stay. You can spend a lot of money on a hotel in this area, but several recommendations lead us to El Pueblo Inn. It was a delight! We don't need fufu, but this property had exactly what we needed and more. The rooms are nice with beds on the softer side (my preference), a mini-refrigerator and a large bathroom. The landscaping is quite pretty and the pool/spa area (open 24/7!) was terrific. They have quiet hours and are serious about enforcing it (thank you!). Breakfast was continental with a few nice added extras to make it more than a carbo load. Free and easy parking, nice staff. Try these local places that have more basic food: La Hacienda (great carnitas and service!), Hop Monk (slightly fancier on the food, but not overly fufu; great service) and Basque Boulangerie Cafe (on the plaza; delicious baked goods and basic breakfast and lunch offerings).
