You can visit places in Sonoma like the Fairmont or The Lodge, yet neither will feel like a luxurious home. Inn at Sonoma is a pure-class luxury hotel that is easy to stay in forever. We wanted to stay forever and are now motivated to stay at all 17 properties managed by the four sisters.

I’ve been tired of the hard-core corporate vibe and now desire a more personal and gentle approach. Inn at Sonoma feels uplifting and embracing. I’m now hooked on the four sister' properties. The history of this and the other four sisters' properties is straightforward.

Four sisters started a bed-and-breakfast from their family home and did so well that one of them branched out to help other B&B owners mimic her success. The four sisters' management company's last sister sold it to three employees who now divinely manage the 17 properties throughout California. You can find more keen spots to stay at the four sisters website

Now, there is another story about Katelynn, who is a hospitality guru. She is a young young woman who emanates professional kindness and enthusiastic humanness. She was a bright light the minute we walked into the room. She Is a magnificent host who showed us several rooms, and they were all gorgeous; one was in the two buildings built in the '60s, and two in the more prominent new part of the property built in 2000. All the rooms were well appointed with sumptuous bedding, stellar bed comfort, high-end decor, and fabrics, yet ours had a beautiful balcony with a country view.

Because we were celebrating an anniversary, Katelynn sent chocolates and a great bottle of wine—kisses and hugs for that.

The breakfast is divine! Every day, the chef makes homemade, gourmet omelets, quiche, or some fantastic egg dish, muffins, fresh fruit, and potatoes plus plus plus. They also serve bread and bagels, and hot homemade oatmeal, and yogurt

The wine hour is so lovely. You can drink as much wine as you like, have freshly baked cookies, and eat fancy and delicious charcuterie with cheese, crackers, pickles, and nuts.

This property gives you so much food, so we didn’t pay for any extra meals, which saved time for more wine-tasting

The best part was that we made friends during wine hour.

LOVE the Inn at Sonoma. It's cozy and charming and the service is excellent. The front desk staff happily advised us on how to plan our wine country adventures. The breakfast each morning was delicious and filling and the afternoon wine and cheese was a nice treat too. And you cannot beat the location! It was so nice to be able to walk to the historic Sonoma Square with all its offerings. We could also walk to a Peet's Coffee just across the street and a Whole Foods a few blocks away. It was so convenient! Oh, and it was very quiet. Our room was just down the hall from the front desk and we had not issues with noise at all.

The Inn was a perfect place to stay for our weekend getaway in Sonoma. The staff always let you know they were available but were never overbearing. Perfection in customer service. The wine and charcuterie boards each afternoon were a pleasure and on our final day a representative from a local winery was there answering questions and providing wine as well. A very nice touch. The location was also great as it is in walking distance to the plaza where many shops, restaurants and tasting rooms are located. Could not have asked for a better stay and we will always recommend this as a great place to stay when visiting Sonoma.

Cozy hotel, good location and pampering of the guests. The room was cosy, clean and nice with a fireplace in the room - especially in the morning.

We enjoyed the availability of coffee, tea, cookies, etc. throughout the day. It's also cozy with the various wine houses that provide wine tasting at the hotel between 5-6 p.m., and the hotel offers cheese and snacks.
We were in hotels for 3 nights.

We enjoyed our two night stay at this well located inn. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Our AC wasn’t working initially, but the front desk took care of that promptly. The complimentary wine and cheese was welcome after a long travel day. The breakfast was not extensive but had some tasty offerings. Places in the wine country can be very pricey, but this inn is quite reasonable. We would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Sonoma, and there was so much to like. The rooms looked like new and were nicely decorated with comfy beds, and we had a fireplace in the room (which might have been nice in the winter) and a table and chairs out on a small balcony. The room itself on the second floor was quiet and the A/C was unobtrusive. Breakfast each morning was small but high quality, with some outdoor tables available off the lobby, and we enjoyed the wine and cheese snack each day. The location of the hotel was perfect – just a little over a block away from the central square (Sonoma Plaza). The front desk staff and manager were helpful, and only thing we missed was that the rooms didn’t have a small mini-fridge. We had a great visit to Sonoma, loved the location and comfort the Inn provided, and would certainly consider staying there again during a future visit.

We loved our stay at the Sonoma Inn. The room was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. The staff were exceptional. The breakfast was delicious and I love that every day there’s something different. They had a nice wine hour in the evening and the location could not have been better for walking around Sonoma Plaza going to many restaurants And wineries. We would definitely go back. Do not hesitate to book this Inn.

Inn at Sonoma is close to some amazing wineries and within walking distance of downtown Sonoma. The staff here made me feel very special for my birthday and made some great recommendations on what to do and see. My partner and I loved freshly cooked breakfast every morning and the complimentary wine and cheese every afternoon. It was hard to say goodbye because of how much of a good time we had here. I’d definitely love to stay with the four sisters brand again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very pleasant room upstairs facing parking area with gas fireplace & small balcony. Very easy check-in and friendly place. Bed was comfortable and room smelled clean. Enjoyed outside hot tub on 2nd floor and robes. Room was a little dated and worn, but still attractive. Complimentary breakfast is served in cheerful, large lobby with modern furniture and fireplace and some outdoor tables. They ran out of items early unfortunately, such as bagels and oatmeal. Wine and bites offered oddly only from 5-6 PM. Wish it was a little earlier at check-in. Chocolate chip ookies were available in lobby.

The Inn at Sonoma property is in a great location with lots of restaurants very close by in Sonoma Plaza. The rooms are very nice a peaceful and tastefully decorated with nice amenities. The staff are very helpful and welcoming, even if you need to check in after hours.

The breakfast, coffee and tea are a very nice touch with lots of good healthy options.

There are also other great amenities such as hot water on tap, fresh water a hot tube and even a place to charge your electric vehicle if needed.

We would go back here in a heartbeat!

How early can you have breakfast?
Answer from M P

We we were there they were serving breakfast on a tray outside your room. With the COVID restrictions lifted you should contact the inn and ask what time breakfast is served. I would think 7:30 or so for those checking out early.

Answer from Manager
Monterey, California237 contributions6 helpful votes
Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. Please know that the inn is newer construction, and the walls are purpose-built to accommodate multiple guestrooms and guests. The bathrooms in the main building are small standard, typical of hotel accommodations while our Vintner building bathrooms are a little larger. Any one of the front desk team would happily recommend a guestroom based on your needs should you wish to contact us directly at the inn. We hope to welcome you soon.
