What makes the Cinnamon Bear Creekside Inn so delightful are the host and hostess, Jim and Pam. Both of them are warm, gracious, accommodating and helpful. The B&B is in the heart of Sonoma, located about a mile from the downtown plaza, a nice flat walk, but an easier drive. It is a quaint historic building about 145 years old with lots of charm. We stayed there two nights including New Year’s Eve. The highlight of our stay was the 5:00 pm happy hour with a free glass of wine, an assortment of cheeses and some added goodies from the chef. They hand out a Wine Passbook which can save you a lot of money, with a list of wineries that offer free tasting to others that give you two for the price of one. We stayed in the Ellington room on the first floor. It is a large room, nicely appointed, private full bath (shower) and a very comfortable king size bed. The door to the room is right off the office/lobby and not solid but has glass panels with a privacy curtain. The only negative issue is that you can hear every word spoken on the other side (which probably means they can also hear you). Except for a very short New Year’s Eve celebration, the nights were very quiet. Each morning we are greeted with an abundant, very tasty and nicely presented breakfast. A nice value and would consider staying there again if in the area.

5* This is a great place to stay. At a B & B, the hosts make the experience and Karen & Larry & Beau (their huskey) made our trip very special. We stayed for 3 nights and it was “WONDERFUL!!” When we arrived, we were greeted by Karen and Larry, who introduced themselves as the new “hosts”. What a great couple and perfect for that job. We had room 5 upstairs which is a corner room with plenty of light with windows on two sides. Even though it's an older home converted to a B & B, it had very thoughtful features. As an example, extension cords had been plugged in so both sides of the king bed had outlets available for guests to use for things like charging cellphones or using a CPAP. And when we asked if they had a little stool for my wife to use in the shower (she broke her ankle the week before), they did not, but within a couple of hours, Karen had driven off and purchased one for my wife to use. It could not have been any better. Guests get not only breakfast but a wine and appetizer hour as well. Karen makes some wonderful appetizers, and new ones each day. Breakfasts were even more wonderful and they were very accommodating to guests with special requests. Karen is very creative and accomplished in the kitchen. Karen and Larry's husky named Beau, who we would visit with outside when Larry had him out there, is so calm and loving. Great location with great access to the area. So, would we go back? YES, absolutely. And we will recommend it to friends and family.

The inn is a very pleasant home with several rooms and a beautiful back yard with an amazing very old tree.

My room had a hardwood floor, a Jacuzzi-type bath tub and an individual air conditioner. The room was clean and tidy.

Pam and Jim are great hosts and very friendly and helpful with their guests. The breakfast center piece was an excellent Eggs Benedict plate.

The owners and staff have taken the necessary precautions to keep everybody safe under the COVID-19 pandemic: face masks are required from everybody, there are hand sanitizer bottles everywhere in the common areas, breakfast is served outside the house.

I came here to evacuate friends from the fires raging in Napa county if needed and had to extend my stay from one night to two nights when on stand-by and the owners gladly agreed.

I recommend this Bed & Breakfast if you like warm hospitality and a quiet place in the middle of a city.

This was a wonderful spot for our trip to wine country! We stayed for two nights and it was super affordable. The breakfast was superb - fantastic portions and the staff was so friendly. They gave us some vouchers for local wineries - next time we go we shall venture more into Sonoma. Room was perfect, good for two. Parking situation was ample as well. Can’f wait to return!

We stayed for a couple of nights for a quick visit to the Sonoma area. The Inn was wonderful. Larry and Karen are extremely welcoming (as is their dog Bo), we felt like we were visiting family. We arrived in time for a complimentary glass of wine and extensive snacks in the evening and greatly enjoyed the home-cooked breakfasts each morning, especially the lemon-blueberry coffee cake and the danishes. The room had everything we needed though the bathroom is in need of updating and could use a couple of more shelves. The location is extremely convenient to downtown Sonoma. We also enjoyed the opportunity to meet other guests at breakfast each morning. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed 3 nights and can’t wait to come back thanks to the hospitality of Innkeepers Karen & Larry and their lovely dog Beau that spent the days basking in the sun.

We arrived several hours early to drop our luggage and recommendations. Karen greeted us, explained the Wine Passport, suggestions for next few days and invited us to the afternoon cocktail drinks/app happy hour. Our room was just cleaned and able to bring bags upstairs. We stayed in the Sarah Vaughan room: adorable room with soaking jetted tub.

Thanks to Karen’s suggestions, we went to the Landmark Vineyard and loved the floral grounds and bocce court and Kenwood for a tasting before returning for the Inn’s happy hour: blow away with their delicious apps and glass of Kenwood wine. Guests were chatty and lots of good tips shared on tastings in the area.

Breakfast was served at 8:30 with fruit, pastry, fluffy quiche, sausage and coffee. We explored the area and returned to another wonderful happy hour with stuffed mushrooms and cheese board.

The Inn is perfectly located walking distance to downtown Sonoma and a must see.

Karen & Larry are amazing hosts and we truly will be back.

The inn is very well situated for exploring Sonoma and its locality, despite being on a bend on a busy road. The breakfasts, served by amiable young staff members, are a delight and the "happy hour " where appetisers and a glass of wine are served is a nice inclusion.
The inn could do with an element of renovation but nevertheless is very clean.

I felt so comfortable staying here. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in their inn and it shows. They greeted me at the door with a smile, are accessible almost 24/7 and have made great accommodations to keep guests safe during COVID. Extra bonus, the breakfast was delicious and made from scratch to order! Would definitely stay here again, especially due to the very reasonable price.

Booked a stay for MLK weekend. Our whole family tested positive for covid the week prior and were denied another weekend reservation sometime later in the year.
Were instead offered a mid-week voucher that definitely doesnt work with normal working people with normal working hours and of course with a much lesser value to those rates of MLK weekend.
Would not recommend due to unethical business practices.

Response from Russ Harrison, Other at Cinnamon Bear Creekside Inn
Responded Feb 16, 2022
I'm sorry but there is more to this story. This guest booked during our winter rate period when the rates are less than they are during the rest of the year. After they claimed to have Covid, and we didn't do exactly what they wanted, they told my innkeeper they would come anyway.... Which we of course refused. Did they really have Covid? I don't think so. When will Covid no longer be considered an "easy out" to ones obligations.

Husband and I stayed for five nights, including Memorial Day weekend. We had the Ms. Holiday room, which had a very large bathroom and was on the main floor, with a door opening to the beautiful patio area. The hosts, Karen and Larry were very friendly and made us feel at home. When we arrived, their wine and appetizer hour was in full swing. We enjoyed talking to the other guests and and were quite impressed with Karen's appetizers and hospitality. We had reservations at Sonoma Grille that evening (highly recommended), but stayed for a few bites and glasses of wine. The next morning, Karen made a fabulous breakfast, including homemade blueberry muffins, fresh fuit, followed by a quiche and fried potatoes. I am not a breakfast person, but during the five days we stayed there, we were spoiled rotten having eggs benedict, french toast, the best cooked bacon ever, biscuits and gravy, and many more dishes. I wish I would have brought my phone to breakfast to take pictures. She also made homemade cookies that she served in the evening and we found overselves having a few when we arrived back to the BnB after attending BottleRock. Fortunately for us, we were able to have our stay during Karen and Larry's management. ****Their last day was June 1st as they are moving onto different opportunities. Hopefully the owner will find another fabulous couple to host the place.**** They really made us feel like family.

Our room had a private shower. I think there might have been rooms that had baths only, so there was a communal shower available, but it could have been the opposite. I would check with the host.
