The Sonoma Valley Inn, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, enchants guests with its modern, tasteful renovations and welcoming atmosphere, which includes cozy fireplaces and a pristine pool area. While it basks in acclaim for its prime location near Sonoma Square and cleanliness, travelers' opinions on service and value diverge.
Praises are sung for friendly staff and spotless rooms, yet some guests recount less satisfactory interactions and hidden costs. The hotel's rooms, with their chic decor and amenities like private patios, are popular, though noise can be a concern for some.

Wow…what a major change from the dingy Best Western. Reception area is beautiful and welcoming. Rooms have been completely updated where you don’t need to wear your shoes while in your room…(that’s a win) They welcome dogs ($50) which was why I chose to stay here. $10.00 to park a night.
Downside is coffee in reception is terrible and expensive for a cup even with a fancy machine and only fake sweet cream pods. Refrigerator in room does not work so if you’re thinking about using it for leftovers, think again. I definitely would stay again despite a few Hiccups.

We stayed for one night as we were on a road trip across CA. Great location - we were a very short walk to the town square, which is filled with restaurants, stores, wine tastings and historical sites. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. When we booked the room, they said they only had room with a queen with a roll away but when we arrived they were able to switch us to a room with two queens. It was pouring while we were there and they provided umbrellas. The room we had was very recently renovated, so it was tasteful, light and clean. They provided a light breakfast though we went across the street to an excellent diner. Terrific hotel - would totally recommend!

This recently renovated hotel has beautiful rooms and couldn't be in a better central location -- just a five minute walk to the Plaza. It's not inexpensive, but for a Sonoma hotel it does offer a level of value. Our issue was the placement of our room. They put us in a hotel room directly next to another hotel room that they are using to host breakfast (while the lounge and full-time breakfast space is being renovated).
I asked if others had complained about the room, but they said they had never heard any complaints. However, we could hear them setting up the breakfast space each morning at 6:30 AM and then could hear folks coming in and out of the "hotel room" all morning. Thankfully my wife had brought ear plugs for both of us.
They should not be renting out this room! Once I raised concerns they should have just moved us to another room. Considering how much we were paying each night (height of wedding season), I expected more of this hotel.

Room was dark, dingy and the carpet was horribly stained and dirty. I am pretty sure there was black mold in the bathroom sink as well. One tiny window was all there was for natural light. They should be ashamed for renting this room out let alone charging the price we paid of over $750 for a 2 night stay. Rest assured that does include the $5 daily fee for parking. The breakfast included over preserved muffins and frost bitten breakfast sandwiches that you microwave. In addition it is obvious by the lack of eye contact, smiles and any greetings that the staff is just about as happy to be there as you are. Don’t waste your money here, find any other option.

Dear Julie Thank you for taking the time to post a reveiw. I am sorry that your stay with us did not meet with expectations. I understand that you were dissatisfied prior to arrival after we were unable to fulfill your request for a free cancellation. At check in, I am sorry also that we were unable to give you an upgrade due to the busy holiday weekend. We appreciate your feedback and taking the time to post a review. Regards

I am a Best Western Diamond member and have stayed numerous times in Best Western Motels throughout California and Arizona and I have stayed 3 or 4 times at the Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn and Krug Event Center which I have enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately the Best Western Sonoma Inn quality has declined to such an extent that I cannot recommend it to anyone and recommend that Best Western remove the franchise from this location. I will list some of the problems. When checking in the staff was cold and unwelcoming. They said the pool and hot tub were closed. We found out the next day from the next day’s staff that the pool was closed but not the hot tub. Upon check-in the staff also said there was no full breakfast as advertised but we could come to the front office to get a grab and go food, which was definitively not up to BW standards. There was no place to sit anyway. Fortunately, there is a Black Bear Dinner across the street. I have stayed in BW over 50 times over the last few years and the breakfast is definitely one of the benefits. Also, there was an additional parking charge of $5.00/night. BW has never had a parking fee except in major metro area LA or SFO. Sonoma is not a major metro area. This is a rip off. They did not explain why there was a fee. We later called and their excuse was other people are parking in their lot which has nothing to do with the extra charge. When we made the reservation on BW website we make it for a balcony. We were give a ground floor room. The staff said that when you request a balcony that means a balcony or patio which was not on the website. Also, the room was small, cold, no carpet, no microwave. It was a very barebones room and definitely not worth the $200+/night. The hairdryer/night light was not functioning. It made it very dangerous to get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Housekeeping should have recognized this problem when they cleaned the room. Thus don’t stay at this place until they upgrade it.

Dear PattiVS Thank you for taking the time to post a reveiw. I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your most recent stay with us and have decided that you will no longer be returning. I did want to let you know that last week the pool and hot tub were unfortunately out or order. We were able to find a technician to come out and it ended up that we were able to re open the hot tub. At the time that you did check in- the hot tub was out of commission. We do offer much much more than just a grab and go breakfast. Our offerings include freshly brewed organic coffee and tea, daily made bagels, muffins raisin bread and gluten free toast. We also offer breakfast burritos and sandwiches, yogurt, granola, 3 varieties of cereal, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and two types of juice. I do apologize that my staff may have not effectively communicated that but we do have a much grater variety than just grab and go. Many of our rooms do have laminate flooring as we are learning that many people tend to prefer that. I am sorry that you were very unhappy with that feature. Again, I am saddened to hear of your choice to no longer stay with us and we wish you all the best. Regards K Comfort

If you're looking for Hilton excellence, comfort, attention to detail, a touch above, this motel... I mean hotel, doesn't even come close.
Bottom line, in case you don't want to read the rest of this, it reminded me of a motel 6. La Quinta would offer better quality.
Where to begin...
First of all, the check in, reception area was a bit interesting. The same counter where you check in also serves beer and coffee. Just a bit odd.
I was asked to pay for the entire stay ahead of time which was 10 days plus another $500 for incidentals. After looking at the room I questioned what on earth the incidentals could be.
I had splurged a little extra for a corner room thinking it would be a little more spacious, which I guess it was but...
After having to park and then walk a good distance, including 2 flights of stairs, and avoiding stepping onto old dog poops along the walkway, the first thing I noticed about the room was the flooring - the artificial wood flooring with the ugliest area rug. There was an odd chair - also ugly and a sofa bed in addition to a king sized bed. A desk and two of the ugliest little tables. A dresser some sort of bench like thing but nothing to fold out and put your suitcase on.
And then there's the television. It's on the far wall to the left of the bed so you can't watch the television straight on you have to turn your neck.
Just a really funky odd layout and super ugly furniture.
There were crumbs under the cushions of the fold out bed. There was a used dental flossing tool and the trash left over from a previous guest. There were no glass glasses only plastic cups.
In the bathroom, instead of metal or ceramic the soap dish was plastic as was the dish of cheap offerings. Plastic.
The sink was small as was the countertop you couldn't really fit anything and there were no shelves or tables in the adjacent shower space.
But one of the most irritating things about the bathroom was the light. It had an automatic sensor so in the middle of the night when you don't really want to be awake but you need to relieve yourself - BAM! - Brilliant bright light right in your face and you can't turn the bloody thing off!
The coffee machine was ridiculous. I had to go onto YouTube to figure out how to use it. And the air conditioner and heater was a bit infuriating as well.
Yes, I probably sound like a spoiled brat but I know what I want. And I know what Hilton usually offers, and that's what I was willing to pay for, but not this.
Hilton, are you listening?

Stayed here in December 2024 and again in February 2025. First stay was in a larger suite that was in a separate building. That room had plenty of space, nice large bathroom with dual vanity, in-room fireplace with couch area around it. Only downside to that room is that the building it is in is separated from everything else by a short walk across a parking lot. The building felt isolated and it made using the hot tub and pool, which are back in the main hotel courtyard, a bit of a walk (minor compliant). The February stay was in the main building. Regular king room but it was ground floor and had a patio with direct access to the pool area. That was a really great feature. Bathroom vanity was small, especially w/ 2 trying to get ready simultaneously.
Location is fantastic. Very easy to walk to anything around the Sonoma square. Breakfast options were limited, but what they had was good.

While the room was excellent and very clean, the room thermostat was broken and the temperature could not be reset. Secondly the hotel continues to advertise a full breakfast even the hotel ceased providing a full breakfast a couple of years ago. Lastly, I arrived without a car and there is a $5.00 daily parking fee and the hotel charged me $5.00 on my email final bill.

I was charged $5/hour to park at the onsite car charger, in addition to electrical usage fees. Parking was supposed to be included with the stay. I have contacted the property by email, and have not received a resolution to my request for refund.
