The rooms are lovely and clean, the hotel is super charming and brakfast was amazing! Try the waffles, they are to die for! Cute details everywhere.. Can't say enough good things about it... I just wish we could have stayed longer!! This was my favorite hotel in our three week California trip!

The Gunn House is an OLD hotel. We found the rooms to be adequate, but not very clean. The old shag carpeting needed replacing, and the rooms needed a bit of updating. The bath was clean and functional. The locks on the doors and Dutch windows in the doors were very flimsy and not safe. The large gaps between the...

Having read previous reviews of The Gunn House on Trip Advisor, my husband and I were looking forward to our stay here and our expectations were fully met. We found the staff here to be accomodating, friendly and helpful. It's quite a drive to Yosemite (an hour and a half - beautiful drive) so this place is an ideal stop...

We arrived without a reservation. The receptionist, Carson, was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the inn took me back to an old Spanish inn. We stayed in room 17 (I think) which was in the rear of the hotel, overlooking the pool and was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent.

The Gunn House is the best place I have stayed in a long time. Beautiful pool, a parlor that is available all day, a breakfast that is FAR BEYOND the standard "continential breakfast" that others have. The rooms are decorated with antiques as is the entire property. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't even think of...

Spent 1night at this hotel en route from Vegas to San Francisco after an enjoyable day exploring Yosemite national park. It is a lovely olde worlde hotel and sitting by the pool you could easily imagine life at the hotel in the days of cowboys and saloons with ladies of the night working from there. The rooms are clean and...

We spent 2 nights there in August, during a long trip around West Coast states. We made a reservation months before and paid a deposit of 50 $ in advance. When we arrived, we "tried" to explain that (since English is not our mother language) to the girl at the reception, but she said that "no deposit was made" and...

Just spent 2 nights at the Gunn House and loved it. After a few days in SF and a weekend at theme parks we travelled east to visit Columbia State Historical Park (very much worth seeing) and Yosemite National Park (absolutely spectacular) and chose Gunn House as our base. My wife and our 12 year old enjoyed our stay very...

Historic house, built up to a hotel. Adequate space, very clean, nicely appointed, loved it! There were a couple of minor drawbacks. The wi-fi didn't work when we were there. There are steps, which might pose a problem for some. The free breakfast was great! Waffles, an egg casserole, homemade cakes, o.j., milk, cereal, plenty to choose from! I would...

Our room was at the back which certainly improved our stay - reduced traffic noise and overlooking the pool. Very relaxing to sit on the porch outside the room in comfy wicker chairs, sipping a cool glass of wine under a revolving fan. The hotel is historic so of course a few floorboards creak now and then, but go with...
