We have stayed in a lot of B&B's over the years and the AV Inn sits near the top. The owner, Pat, has restored this property beautifully. So many B&B are a hodgepodge of poorly executed "remodels" and piecemeal interior/exterior "improvements", leaving the guests wondering why they left their decent homes only to pay money to stay in a place...

We arrived at 5 pm after a stressful trip in rush hour freeway traffic and were greeted in the living room of this beautiful, quintisential California craftsman home with wine and cheese. A lovely welcome! Our room was spacious and nicely furnished, with beautiful views of the grounds and nearby mountains. Breakfast with fresh fruit and yummies like huevos ranchero...

During a family crisis, I stayed there pretty frequently--had a number of rooms, etc. Not is the architecture beautiful, a nice combination craftsmen an modern, with lovely colors, furnishings, but the key point: the rooms are extremely comfortable, many with a view of the mountains and valleys, the hospitality superb, it is also peaceful and QUIET. Not once did I...

I found myself without a place to stay for several nights while the management company was doing work on my tiny Glendale apartment. After imposing on good friends in Pasadena and a terrible night in a large chain hotel in Monrovia which turned out to be right off the freeway, my nerves were pulled as tight as Joan River’s cheekbones....

This is a charming yet elegant bed and breakfast with beautiful views of the San Gabriel Valley. This place is quiet, serene and peaceful and feels like a wonderful escape and yet you feel catered to as well. From the wonderful oatmeal chocokate chip cookies with cheese and crackers and drinks in the early evening when we arrived to the...

This is a truly extraordinary B&B. It’s especially comfortable. It’s beautiful (inside and out). It’s elegant. It's spacious. It’s well run. It’s delicious (at breakfast). The quality is of a high caliber from the linens to the air conditioning. The Arroyo Vista Inn and it's very nice and enlightened owner offer the comforts of home in a way that the...

I recently enjoyed a long-term stay at the AVI while on business in Los Angeles. Pat and her staff were exceptionally accommodating. Coming through the front door into the large and welcoming parlor at the end of a busy day really feels like "coming home". I found the commute into downtown Los Angeles an easy 20 minutes, and really appreciated...

Pat, our hostess, made us so comfortable that it felt like we were family. Except that we didn't have to do the dishes after breakfast. The living room invites relaxation and conversation with the other guests. The wine, cheese and cookies fuel the conversation. Chillin on the front porch is so comfortable and pleasant that one could forget that there...

I stay at the AV Inn a few times each year to escape the hustle and bustle of life. I recently returned from a 2 night stay and as usual, every aspect of my experience was first-rate. As other reviewers have commented, each of the rooms is lovely and the setting is super relaxing. It was fun mingling with the...
