Chose the Summerland Inn because of the price - $179/night including taxes, etc vs. $300/night and up in the area. Room was old, furniture was worn, there was mold in the bathroom and I don't think the carpet had been cleaned or vacuumed in years. It was so disgusting I couldn't bring myself to walk without shoes in the room.... More

Not clean. Front desk not attentive, didn't answer the phone when I called - picked up, put the headset down, shuffled to the front desk and made me fill out forms even though I'd booked online. Lazy. Wifi and HBO/Showtime (advertised) don't exist at all. Unclean room, linens, bathroom. Very outdated and creepy decor. Items left behind by previous guests.... More

I was attending a reunion with friends in Santa Barbara and waited until the last minute to find a place to stay. I was able to get a room at the Summerland Inn, which I've known about for years but never stayed at. First the good - it was surprisingly close to Santa Barbara, which was very convenient as I... Nice from outside - dirty, old and untended inside. Summerland is assumed to be an unfriendly island in California. The hotel lady, the waiter at "The Nugget" (dinner was okay) and the waitress at the "Stacky's Seaside" (breakfast wa sokay) have been so different to all others.....

A very romantic spot close to the freeway. A very friendly elderly woman helped us and showed us a clean room with two queen size beds. Despite the Inn is close to the road we never had problem with noice.

I like to refer my family and friends to this place because its next door to my house but recently I had to stay there myself and was not totally happy with the price you pay for what you get. The towels were small and the rooms were old and dusty. The freeway will keep you up at night if... More

Well, we were exhausted after a five hour detour and opted to stay here. I am not sure what was worse, the Pepto Bismol "decorating" that is more Goodwill than Victorian charming or the dirtiness! It was very dusty, terribly dirty carpets, the bedspread had many "stains" and was nasty, as was the blanket. The sheets appeared to have been... More

I stayed one night here and I will never come back. The toilet didn't work. I was sick during the night and couldn't flush. The window didn't seal all the way so I heard the 101 freeway all night and a flock of crows starting at 4:30 AM even with earplugs in. Hoping for a nice warm shower in the... More

This Inn is well maintained with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The only distraction is the noise from the 101 highway. However the rooms are quiet and it is only while sitting on the patio that it is noisy. The breakfasts are well done and tasty and the afternoon wine and canapes plentiful. Thank you for a lovely stay..

After reading the reviews, we were hesitant to stay here but like the others, it was the last room available for the Fourth of July. We overpaid at $169plus tax. The place is worn and I would compare it to staying with your grandmother who never had the money to upgrade her home. The bathroom was very clean and had... More
