I really do believe that a great hotel experience starts with the first person who greets you, and that was Jonathan C.
To be honest, I was not happy with my room...so unhappy in fact that I was going to find another hotel to stay in. Jonathan was apologetic and told me nothing was available as the weekend was booked solid. I pleaded a bit because I was into the vibe of this cute place and I wanted it to work out. And you know what, Jonathan made it work out. He studied the bookings for a while, he made some determined calculations (knowing he might get a bit of a reprimand from the manager), and he juggled the schedule and found me not just another room, but a great room...a really great room. A room that turned my mood around.
And thats what it took to take this review from not so great to 5 STARS.
So, thank you Jonathan. for being so kind and accommodating. BaseCamp Tahoe is lucky to have you as the first person a guest encounters.

So i've been trying to spend and do something epic for my son and I as I am new to Divorce. Jonathan was amazing, the staff was attentive, the room was so clean i couldn't complain about anything,. Keep in mind this is during COVID, the staff aren't allowed to clean and make the beds they have to wait until you check out, but they will give you a bag to put all soiled Towels and sheets and provide you new ones if you wish. I admired their honesty and their Patience. The AC was strong, it doesn't state it has a Fridge but the room i had , had one. I do wish they had a microwave, but the staff wouldn't mine warming up anything up for you at front desk. This hotel is located in the North Tahoe City, very Outdoors and quaint, not crowded and congested like South Tahoe, all the houses and cabins coming in to South Tahoe, looked like, ...they were falling apart. North Tahoe all the Hotels and Restaurants were local it was awesome to see Local Restaurants a walk away as well as Kayaking and the Beach. I was primarily there to take my son to Tahoe Tree Tops Adventure park best place every , i mean " You only have one life to LIVE!" Best time I had in my life i will coming back here making more memories getting away from the Modern Parenting of shoving my son infront of a IPAD or whatever is common in the US nowadays. Everyone here seemed all about getting out and doing it all. I admired that. Thank you Jonathan and the staff there. I will be back no joke.

Excellent location, friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff and comfortable rooms, couldn't ask for more really. Despite Covid/winter supply issues they improvised to provide a good breakfast that set us up for the day. Due to full car parks at Olympic and Alpine, we decided to try Homewood resort nearby on one day and the receptionist came up with two $100 discount lift pass vouchers! Rooms are decorated in a welcoming, rustic style and despite getting half a season of snow in 5 days they'd done an amazing job of clearing the car park! Awesome 4 night stay, thank you!

A good but not great location, Really just a 1950's motor court motel, tarted up with atmospheric wall collage and some dark wall paint. Bathroom small, though the shower did have plentiful hot water.

The lobby is fitted out with a mountain feel and the everpresent banded products for sale, but the
included continental breakfast was standard fare slipped into jam jars and the like. Not value for the money

We stayed here for three nights over the MLK weekend and had a great experience. We came up with our 2 sons who are 11 and 13 and stayed in the family room/suite that had a bunk bed in one room and a king in the other. We loved it. I wish all hotels offered this kind of layout. The lodge style lobby offered a large screen TV, coffee and tea all day, a popcorn machine in the afternoons, happy hour beer & wine, and an easy yummy breakfast - fresh waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, an assortment of toast, jam, nutella and oatmeal. It was a perfect way to fuel the whole family up before heading out to the slopes! The beds were comfy, the rooms incredibly clean and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this place for the first time and it was a very pleasant stay. Very convenient location and walking distance to all shops an restaurants. Continental breakfast is a great addition and offers lot of options. Beautiful lounge place and comfy sofas with tv in the lounge area.

The only complain I have is room can feel a tad bit stuffy since there is not enough ventilation.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel, staff at front desk is very helpful and responsive and loved the free breakfast with waffles, bagels and coffee.

To be clear, this is an inverted L-shaped motel right on the main road through Tahoe City. All the rooms face the parking lot. The balcony king rooms are at the top and have a partial view of Lake Tahoe across the parking lot and lobby building. The "balcony" part is a walkway that overlooks the parking lot and are without chairs to sit on although there are some nearby.

The balcony king room seemed very pricey for what it was - a standard motel room with very small bathroom and very small shower. No tub. The only sitting chairs are camp chairs that are not at all comfortable. The decor is nice but there is little surface area to put things. Bed too soft and not all that comfortable. Linens very average. Staff very nice and accommodating.

There is a Safeway across the street and some restaurants within walking distance. Overall it may be the best choice in the area but don't expect too much.

The staff is very welcoming and friendly and I'm sure the Covid situation isn't helping cash flow, but the place needs some serious TLC. It doesn't take a lot of money to re-caulk the showers, plant some grasses or pots and clean the carpets. It felt depressed in general. Our bedding didn't fit the mattress, there was mold in the shower and you could hear everything in the next room. The water was hot though, so there's that. The potential is there but it's unfortunately a step up from camping at this point.

Excellent night at this hotel. We arrived late, the person at the reception was very accommodating and kind. the rooms are clean and decorated with care. It feels good. Our room had a partial view of the lake, at the bottom of the courtyard, no noise, a small terrace with a firepit allows you to relax in the evening.

PRO: Clean, cute decor, comfortable beds, big window in bathroom, great location, loved the fire pits, board games, friendly staff. Nice and quiet even with being mostly booked.
CON: No fridge but cute ice chest; AC a little loud at night but not too bad; could use couple more hooks to hang wet beach towels too.
Due to COVID most everything closed early, so dinner time needed extra planning. Front desk could give visitors a heads up on that and we realized too late there was a small mall across the street. Safeway across the street has hot food options that were good too. I would stay here again!
