I felt guilty wearing my shower shoes in the shower because I was worried about dirtying the shower! THE cleanest bathrooms and showers that we've ever enjoyed at a campground! Fuel, an LCBO, gorgeous beach and a dangerous store (my husband wouldn't let me in unaccompanied!). It was right on the highway, but that's why we chose it.

First off the park is lovely if you are more than an overnight traveller. There is a store that is very well stocked and has some takeout food as well. There is a nice lake that was warm enough to swim in.
My complaint and why I only gave it a 3 star was our site. Yes we were just an overnight visitor but our site was horrible. It seemed to just be the corner of the employee parking lot. It did have water and hydro, a picnic table and a tree but the picnic table actually had a corner poking over the driveway. Several people drove by close enough I could have touched them. It just seemed to me that they could get some money for the crappy site so stick an overnighter there.

Room Tip: This is a campsite, although they do have some cabins but we were in an RV.

The campground map is misleading. The "road" dividing the two sections of the campground is actually a major highway. There is no crosswalk. We were in the overflow area open to the highway. Noise wasn't an issue.

The store and services are great.

Website not true to experience. Hot tub hasn't functioned in 4 yrs, they can't get replacement parts... so replace hot tub. We were given basically a full serviced site in a parking spot across the highway from main camp, felt like a punishment. 2nd seasonsl camp and spots werd behind the treeline behind us. We spotted a number if ticks on boards outling our spot. Another camper next to us had a live line and had to disconnect rather than frying his wiring during lightening storm. We shortened our stay to 1 night and they difn't penalize us because of faulty website. Washrooms and laundry clean and lovely. Never saw beaches or marina for our short stay as tgey were licated in main camp behind general store, didn't want to risk running across highway. If you don't get a full serviced pull through site in main camp this stop just idn't worth the bother or cost. Good coffee at General Store.

We stopped here based on the rave reviews I saw on trip advisor as well as on other websites. Would never stay here again!…we planned to travel across Canada from West to East and this came highly recommend…started enquiring in January for a May 2 night stay…confirmed my dates for May Feb.11…was told they were full on the “lakeside” part of the campground…so has to settle for their $45.00/night site “across the highway”…..we’ll, it is as bad as staying in a KOA…parking lot style…with the highway at your doorstep…no place to walk the dogs and to get to their “amenities”…we had to cross the highway. Not impressed to say the least!…oh, and we could get an Internet connection on only one of our devices while camping there😡

Booked this last minute while driving through Kenora. We were arriving after hours and someone was supposed to leave us keys and info but they forgot. But thankfully the owners were driving by at the time we arrived and guided us and got us settled in our cabin! Great view, cozy cabins. A bit cold in October but the space heaters got the job done
