Create a lifetime of memories at Sas Lodge! Sasa-ginni-gak Lodge is a family owned fly-in fishing lodge in the Canadian shield. Set in a pristine wilderness environment, protected by a wilderness park, Sas Lodge offers experienced and first-time anglers alike an unforgettable fishing experience. With our two out-camp lakes (Apisko and Charron) you can fish for walleye, northern pike and lake trout. Family, friends and fishing for almost 60 years!
This lodge is fantastic. 5 stars to the staff, Rory, Tina, Helena, Alex, Julia and Izzy are all super stars. They are truly friendly, helpful and delightful when you ask a question. The fishing is AMAZING. Every day our group caught many enormous pike (if you go to Sas your arms will get tired lifting these monsters into the boat). To find walleye you will need to cast your jig into the water and reel in, it is really almost that simple. The cabins are very clean and comfortable. Our group of 4 were in HIllcrest and there was plenty of space. They have great deep friers stocked with clean canola oil that makes delicious fish and french fries. We are already booking a return trip.

Great all around trip. The transportation was spot on, the lodging was perfect and the fishing was immaculate. Absolutely amazing experience. Caught over 600 Walleye and 100 Pike in 4 days. Including a 29 1/2 in Walleye and a 46 1/4 in Pike.

This is my second trip to Sasa-ginni-gak lake lodge this year and it keeps getting better. Every year, the boys in our family enjoy some of the best fresh water fishing in Canada. We come for the walleye and easily find them in great quantities often in the 24-29” size. Quadruple headers are not uncommon and dad usually leads the group in numbers with my son not far behind. It seems that each year a new hot spot gets named when we stumble on large numbers of quality fish. Can’t wait to try some new spots next year. Although we are there for the walleye, we have had some exciting Pike encounters. My brother’s 44” northern was an incredible catch on a 1/4 oz. jig! Sasa-ginni-gak lake is so diverse with thousands of spots, which provide endless opportunities to troll, jig, cast or drift. With the new boats, motors and Helix fish finders, the lake is easy to navigate. The comfortable pedestal seats and flat floor keeps us all (especially dad) happy during long days on the water. Twice a day we enjoy a fresh fish fry using our cabin’s outdoor propane deep fryer. After a full days fishing, we couldn’t be more comfortable with our accommodations. Our cabin included sleeping for 8, two bathrooms and showers and a fully stocked kitchen. The view of the lake from the large deck is breath taking. We have seen many pelicans, eagles, ducks, loons, hawks and otters. The sunsets are incredible and we find ourselves in awe of the beauty around every bend. My wife joined me on my second trip and even though she has visited our captivating north, the stunning beauty of Atikaki Provincial Park was mentioned repeatedly and provided many photo opportunities. Our city pace immediately reverts to a slow appreciation of nature and time spent relaxing and observing the natural beauty. Our experience is made even better because of the wonderful people who looked after us at Northway Aviation and Sas Lodge. Family run, every person you encounter is focused on delivering the best customer service. From the initial booking with Bonnie, the personal attention to the flight schedule by Ian, Karmen and Merlin, to the safe and reliable flights with our pilots Trevor, Tammy and Elco. The flight from St. Andrews over the beautiful Manitoba landscape takes about 45 minutes. We couldn’t have a more convenient trip to and from the lodge. Our arrival at Sas always feels like coming home. Touching down on the water and taxiing into the dock, fuels our anticipation and we can’t wait to get out on the water. We are always met warmly on the dock by the wonderful staff at the lodge. Mitch and Lisa (and their dog Barney) welcome us back and get us settled while Em and Rory have our gear unloaded at our cabin before we even get there. We are out on the water in no time. If we need anything at all, we are always welcome in the beautiful main lodge to pick up some supplies, maybe tell a fishing story or two or just chill. This is an interesting year for everyone and we are very fortunate to be able to explore this spectacular lake in such a beautiful park. We couldn’t think of a better way to spend this time than with family and nature. Can’t wait for next year!…

We were a group of 4 and stayed in the Edgewater cabin. Very comfortable and everything we needed was there. The boats were great and it was very easy to get out on the lake. We caught many fish in our 3+ days of fishing. No complaints. Very happy with the experience and value.

This was my first fly-in fishing trip and it was such a great experience!! Every member of the staff was beyond helpful and friendly, including during the planning phase of the trip as well as throughout our whole stay at Sas Lodge. The new boats (as of 2017) were comfortable, easy to operate, and the gps/depth finder was a big help! Big Sas lake was absolutely gorgeous and there are endless areas to explore, whether you're looking for a new fishing spot or just looking to boat around and see the area. My dad and I found a different spot for shore lunch every day and we never had a problem catching enough walleye for lunch. We both caught the biggest fish of our lives up there (39" and 37" northerns) and the walleye seemed to be endless! Another positive aspect of Sas Lodge is the fact that they supply things like bedding, towels, dishes, paper towels, soap, etc. The wifi offered at the lodge is also a very nice luxury to have! I can't wait to go back! …

Sasa-ginni-gak Lodge & Outcamps is outstanding!! We've been going here for over 40 years. The fishing has become some of the best in Canada for big Walleye and Northern Pike. The accommodations continue to get better each year with upgraded amenities and maintenance upgrades. The fishing boats are the best we have ever experienced in a fly in fishing operation in Canada! We'll keep coming back and it keeps getting better every year! The Bareither Group
