We rented a one bedroom lakeview condo and were very disappointed. The view out both of our windows was the side of a building. If you stood in a particular spot and craned your neck, you could see a portion of the lake. It did not feel like a condo at all, it was more like a worn out motel room with a small bedroom attached and a small kitchen. The room was dirty when we arrived. This is very frustrating at any time but during COVID when you expect every room to be sanitized, it is unacceptable. The table had food stuck to it. The cutting board still had food on it. There were crumbs in the cabinet from the previous guest and there was dirt and old food swept into the corner. The kitchen was woefully equipped. The coffeemaker only brewed their pre filled packets of coffee, there were no oven dishes or cooking sheets despite the fact that they had a full oven. All the other pots, pans, and utensils were the absolute worst. They don't provide any cleaning during your stay(which is understandable) but there was no broom or cleaning supplies to clean up the mess we found when we arrived or any mess we might make during our stay. When I complained to the front desk, they were very unhelpful.

Great two night stay at DLVR. Paul at the front desk was very helpful and just a genuinely nice guy. Boat slip was a huge bonus! Covid precautions were observed and masks were available at every building entrance, which was great cuz our cloth ones weren’t drying fast enough for reuse!
Will try to book a non-parking lot view room next time because we were awakened before 7 each morning by crazy loud people in the parking area with no common courtesy 😬

This was our first visit to Donner Lake Village, and we didn't really know what to expect. But its all about location here! The small, private beach and dock were great (!), with beautiful lake views. Also, we loved the Pub down the street, ice cream shop across the street, and the Kitchen about 2 miles away. The reception manager was exceptionally helpful, and keyless entries for all gates and doors was perfect!

Our studio room came equipped with cooktop, dishes, refrigerator, and microwave. But TV was limited, the furnishings were old, rug and curtains gross, loose window screens, and there was a faint musty-vintage smell that matched the 1970's decor. This room practically screamed for a remodel! Also, blackout curtains without a thin daytime privacy curtain were disappointing, since there was quite a bit of foot traffic outside our first floor room window.

We are here now in the one bedroom lakefront room. Perfect location but the room is dirty and needs serious updating for the price they charge. I’m 5’5 and I’m too tall for the shower. They advertise a equipped kitchen but they only have one small pan and two pots which is not non stick with no cooking spray. You need at least two pans to make a breakfast. The dish drying rack is about as old as the room and should be thrown out and replaced. The lamps in the bedroom are dirty with stains. The lino In the bathroom is old and dirty with mildew next to the shower floor. The TV picture quality is poor. I usually only write good reviews but when I see a place charge top dollar and I know it wouldn’t cost much to update the bathroom and a few old furniture items I think you need to know to ask if you are getting an updated room! Definitely a great location and if you can get an updated room then I would recommend it. Be sure to ask for two skillets!

This hotel provides little apartments on Donner Lake, so you can prepare little meals and have a little room to spread out. If you are lucky and spend some extra money you get a view of the Lake. It's not classy or luxurious, but it has a terrific location and is comfortable,

We love Dinner lake Village. The views are gorgeous of the lake and surroundings. They recently remodeled some of the deluxe studios and they are really done well.
Really nice common areas for reading and/or relaxing with friends.
We love the location and access from I-80 and Donner lake drive and easy drive to all ski areas!
The rooms are clean and cozy. We come for the kitchenettes and fridges for cooking our own healthy food and preparing our lunches for the ski hill. Plenty of silverware, cookware and glasses.
We personally pack out all of our food scrapes for our compost back home. However they have trash bins and offer recycling for glass and aluminum if you must.
“Pack it in pack it out” take responsibility for your travel is our motto!
Well anyway, this is a 5 star review of Donner Lake Village! Well we will be back staying on the 1st floor lakeside in 2022!

Locatio, location, location.
Out of this world views
Nice place, we rented the deluxe with lake view, worth the extra $
Fully stocked kitchen, keyless entry - no key!!
We will come back for sure.
Only issue was at checkout, they are pushy borderline annoying - we took 35 minutes extra to be ready to leave and they came and called every 5 minutes!!

This is the 2nd time we stayed at Donner Lake village. We loved this place the first time we stayed in 2019. We promised ourselves we would return the next year. Unfortunately due to the pandemic it took us 3 years before we could return. To our pleasant surprise the place was even better than what we had experienced before. Many of the units have been upgraded. Another family travelling with us got the upgraded suite and it was fantastic. Ours was not upgraded but was absolutely clean and fresh. The common areas were cleaned thoroughly with sanitizers and wipes placed strategically for patrons to use. The front desk was very helpful and pleasant during our check in. They have trash cans in multiple locations indoors and outdoors that are regularly serviced. This place is only 3 miles from our favorite donner ski ranch. Additionally, it is right on Donner lake which is absolutely stunning all year long. We really hope this place keeps up the good work so we could return year after year, season after season. Love their pricing and hospitality. We might even return for the summer :)

I was happy that we were located on the beach next to the boat ramp and little beach. So the location was very good for water sports and views of the lake from the small first floor balcony.
However, Unit 136 looks like it did in the mid 1970's I think. Other than newer carpets and living room couch, this place felt historical. Have the owners remembered that this is 2022? The old mismatched furniture looks like it was found in a garage sale in the 1980s. The bathroom has loose fixtures and I counted at least 4 things that need repairing, including a broken tub drain plug. New shower head needed, this one hits you like a fire hose and no longer adjusts. Loose towel rack and wall plate on Kleenex dispenser falling off the wall. The BR linoleum looks original from the 1960s and and belongs in a museum, and I haven't seen it curved up on the wall like this since the 70's. Do the owners not feel guilty charging over $450 a night for this? There are expectations for updated accommodations at this price point. With the $1400 I paid for 3 nights, they can buy new living room furniture. At a furniture store! And lets fix and upgrade the bathroom! Its 50 yrs old! And do not any room service, it does not exist. At least the lake is nice,

Loved my 4 days on the lake in this wonderful lake-front condo! I wish I could have stayed longer. Appreciated the decorations in the room, various old objects, like an old style toboggan, skis, also pictures. I liked the reclaimed furniture, too. The kitchenette has a somewhat oldish fridge and no kettle, that is only a little minus. Also, I would have appreciated a little table on the balcony. Paul, the manager, was extremely helpful and pleasant. I appreciated the view of the lake from the room. Sometimes I realized that there is more noise from the neighbors than I am used to. People were chatting and laughing half through the night, but it did not disturb me. After a whole day of swimming I was sleeping like a log. The food options were a bit limited, due to the pandemic, but we did not go hungry.
