Check-in was at 3 o'clock - there was not anyone at the front desk for an earlier check-in but upon arrival we were able to upgrade to a room with our own bathroom at a small cost. The manager was very helpful and nice! Great location - cute, quaint, and clean. Complimentary wine and continental breakfast .. No complaints, I...

We loved everything about this place. They have done an outstanding job preserving the atmosphere of this hotel. Such a historic hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very clean. Hotel is located close to several restaurants and shops. Very convenient

The Truckee Hotel has the best downtown location in a ski town where you pretty much have to drive to the major mountains anyway. There is very little ski on ski off at Alpine Meadows or Squaw Valley, so you are very likely going to have to drive. If you do find a condo close to the mountain you will...

We stayed for one night and were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was, the communal areas were decorated to a high standard. We booked an en suite room and were perfectly happy. You can hear the trains go past at night but it’s really not an issue. The restaurant and bar downstairs are both very smart with great...

I am the typical American. I am used to having the 'luxuries' of my own bathroom, plenty of electrical outlets and a nicely decorated bedroom. This hotel doesn't have all that- IT WAS WONDERFUL! We only stayed one night, but it was a fun experience. In our minimalist room we had a queen bed and a twin bed. Both were...

I wavered between the modern hotel with the pool, but not in town and the Truckee Hotel. We chose the historical hotel because we wanted to start our vacation in Wild West style. We arrived, checked in and found a cooler hallway in the hotel. Later, we saw people swimming in the Truckee River and figured we would have done...

We stopped here late after an extremely long day of off-roading. The guy at the desk was great. We didn't exactly realize the hotel was original. The rooms have modern updates such as a tv, newer shelving, and a fan. But the rest is very old, but taken care of. We loved it. It was like staying back in the...

Stayed a night at the Historic Truckee Hotel. A convenient location to stroll the streets of Truckee. A rustic and historic hotel built in 1873. Very small front desk area. There are 28 European rooms which share a bathroom. There are 8 American rooms which have their own bathroom. The rooms are small, exposed pipes, no closet, limited electrical outlets....

We had a wonderful stay in this old and charming hotel .....the people at the desk were friendly and informative, and our room was very clean and comfortable and had a great bed!. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Truckee, close to anything you need, and reflected the historic feel of the town. All in all, we had...

This hotel is very convenient if you want to stay in Truckee to dine, shop or listen to music. It is right downtown and in walking distance to all of the best shops, bars and restaurants. It is very old and "original" meaning that it's not remodeled with big televisions or modern shower heads. The heat is steam heat which...
