Really cool building, seems very popular with locals. Good food and cocktails. Nice scenery around the building. Lots of meaty dishes, beignets for dessert. A bit on the expensive side but it's in a touristy spot so about what you'd expect.

This inn is within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, has a view of Truckee river, and is comfy and perfectly outfitted. The is a living room that one can sit in and talk or drink, and eat the supplied. continental breakfast. Yes, you can hear the train whistle, (as you can from every lodging in Truckee) but it...

Matt helped us to get settled and then invited us to visit the restaurant for dinner. The dinner was fantastic! Our room was pretty and very well taken care of. The clawfoot tub was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable and we had more than enough pillows. The wifi was really fast. I really appreciated that a lot. This...

Pros: location, love old buildings Cons: Restaurant and bar noise, innkeeper noise from room above ours from 12-1 a.m., hard bed, train noise. Poor continental breakfast. We were told they purchase baked goods from a local bakery. Clearly they shop at Costco. Lacks personal touch you would expect from a bnb. Run more like a motel than bnb.

My daughter and I rode the train up from Martinez for a short weekend getaway. The people who checked us in and out were very friendly and our room was clean and comfortable. We LOVE trains so it didn't bother us that the freight trains go by about every hour or two throughout the night, but if you don't like...

The only reason that River Street Inn is getting two stars rather than one is because the bed was comfortable. We stayed in the suite which was quite spacious, but rather dusty with large cobwebs in most corners of the bedroom. It felt like it had been a forgotten room. The noise, however, of the passing and honking trains throughout...

My family and I recently stayed at this B&B. The room was small, but nice. The location was in historic downtown Truckee, and very close to Donner Tahoe. My only complaint was that breakfast had a late start. Most people that visit this area in the winter like to hit the slopes early, so having breakfast service start at 9:00...

We rode the train up from Sacramento to Truckee to see all the great snowfall we've had this winter. The River Street Inn is literally located just a 5 min walk away from the train station in Truckee. For one night it cost a little over $200. Not a bargain considering the that advertised flat screen TV in our room...

We loved the historic building and the location right in Truckee; we walked to dinner and all around town. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The living room area is wonderful for hanging out and the continental breakfast is delightful.

After years of staying at the Truckee Hotel for my wife's birthday we decided to shake it up and try some place different. That place ended up being the River Street Inn, and we couldn't have been more pleased. From the first time when one of the owners opened the front door for us, to our last day when her...
