We had the sincere pleasure of spending two nights this past weekend at The Spalding House Bed and Breakfast Inn and what a delight it was. The owner, Peggy Davidson, was a most lovely hostess and treated us like one treats guest in their own home. The house is magnificent and a historical landmark of Visalia, California. We were given...

We stayed at Spalding House for a night. The BnB is exceptional: charming and comfortable. Peggy, the owner, is hospitable and serves a delicious breakfast. Visalia is a pleasant place to stop on the way to Sequoia national park. Would highly recommend staying at Spalding House.

We reserved a room for an April weekend, last fall. I called last week to confirm the reservation. It rang and rang, with no answer. I sent email. No answer. I continued calling every couple day, with the same experience. As our trip is now just days away, I went ahead and made reservations at a hotel. Shoddy. I recognize...

We booked this B&B months in advance, even when originally speaking with the owner we were told she didn't have a computer so we posted a letter from Overseas to confirm our booking. A week before arriving we called to confirm our booking and we were told it was all OK and we will see you next week. The day...

Pleasant to sit in an alcove in our room to read and drink coffee in the morning. Large breakfast in formal dining room with a large bouquet of roses from the garden. Window seat in the library. Music room with fainting couch. Beautifully maintained home built in 1901. Close to downtown and lots of good restaurants. Will definitely return!

Have stayed here several times and Peggy has always been so accommodating. Breakfast is an extra special treat, homemade goodies with beautiful linens and silver. The home is immaculately maintained and a short walk to downtown and local sights. For the price it is a steal compared to neighboring hotels/inns.

We had a lovely one-night stay at The Spalding House, on our way to Kings Canyon and Sequoia parks. The owner greeted us warmly and showed us around her fine, well-kept home. Our room was upstairs in back and had an extra sitting room so it was very spacious. The home is full of Victorian touches and architectural details like...

Spalding House offered an enchanted night and morning in an unexpected place -- Visalia! The house is wonderfully maintained and Peggy, the owner/inn keeper is a lovely and interesting person who is well versed on many topics. She maintains her historic home herself and shares it with a few people who appreciate the love and care she has bestowed upon...

We stayed here while visiting Kings Canyon N.P. and Sequoia N.P. The Spalding House is a lovely historic home located in a very nice neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Visalia and many restaurants. The B&B has two bedrooms: The Spalding Suite and the Aviary Suite. Our hostess was Peggy, the owner of the bed and breakfast. We stay exclusively...

Stayed here in the Aviary Room before moving on to Sequoia National Park. The home is gorgeous and I enjoyed all the historic details - the original silk wall covering in the library, the beautiful wood work in the dining room, the antique bird cages. Peggy is very warmhearted and a wonderful hostess. Her breakfasts are very generous and filling,...

“At this time, Peggy is only renting the Spaulding and the Aviary rooms. The Spaulding Room is a bit larger and has a larger alcove - but it faces the front of the house. The Aviary room is in the back.”
