We needed a good stop-over when travelling from Washington State to Arizona. Sac-West was just the ticket. The park is very clean and while the spaces between sites are not spacious, they are comfortable so you don't feel like your neighbor is looking into your trailer. They have a very nice rec room with a really clean laundry room. Even a fridge w/freezer you can store items, Lots of little activities from animals, dog park, wildlife viewing in the drainage canal to a group fire ring. It is close to downtown Sacramento and Old Town which is so fun to spend the day in. The restooms were clean with hot showers and they were building another restroom when we were there. The office has a small store and there is a food truck which will bring your order right to your RV. They also pick your garbage up at the curb, how nice is that. Would I stay here again, yep, next year on our way back down to our sunbattical.

This park was not very accommodating. We were traveling as a pair and we made reservations to camp by each other if possible. They said they couldn’t accommodate and the spots around both of us were filled with just nightly stop overs ( easily movable reservations, and zero effort to work with us). This place isn’t going to go above the minimum line. Park has all the nice big sites filled with people who live there so most of the sites available are smaller 30 amp. Probably the higher priced rv site I’ve paid for before with dirt sites. Very small sites my steps were almost on top of the sewer hose next to us and my slide was into the spot behind us. I would not stay at this park again.

The sites were the tightest I’ve ever seen and definitely not designed by anyone who’s ever owned an RV. I had to be in one exact spot very far to the front of my pull-thru site in order to get my awning out between the two trees that were planted right smack in the middle of the 4 foot patch of gravel that was my “Patio“. Being that far forward in the site meant that my water and sewer hoses weren’t long enough to reach the hook ups. That made for quite a bit of unnecessary hassle. I should also mention that the office closes at five and then everyone’s on their own. I think someone mentioned that there is an owner on site, but there’s definitely no presence felt— no security guards, activities, etc. Kind of feels a bit like a truckstop with a few trees and some gravel. There are better parks in the area.

I came to Sac West as a traveling health care professional working an assignment at a local Sacramento hospital.

Sac West had very low voltage that drops in the heat of the day that caused our breaker to flip even when running 1 single electronic. We asked the staff to come fix our electric hookup box. The owner, Jim, came out and immediately tried to say our trailer was the problem (even though we have never had this issue in another park). When my girlfriend explained to Jim that the park voltage was too low, causing our trailer to have to pull more amps, Jim freaked out on her and started screaming at her using his body language to try to physically intimidate her. They never fixed our electrical hookup, so we left the park early.

As a healthcare professional, it is my opinion that Jim has a serious anger problem and it is not safe to stay there if he is there.

If they ever try to stick you in site #76, ask for a different site, and don't expect them to fix anything that doesn't work.

Stayed one night in February 2020. Friendly staff and quick check in. Food truck on site. Convenient on/off I-80 but priced way too high for the limited site space and highway noise. Would not stay here again.

In Sacramento visiting with friends and found SacWest. The sites are very tight, but the park is clean and has a lot of open space for our dogs to run about. There are geese that leave a mess, but we enjoyed our short stay there.

Convenient layover spot. RV sites are very close hard to get into. Had a water/electric site. Wasn’t told about paying for dump. Nothing posted and it was unlocked. At least have it in the brochure or a sign saying? Lady caught us pulling out and questioned what site we had, etc. Didn’t think she needed to make a big fuss over $10 charge when there’s no info and it’s open. And sites are way over priced anyway. Taking advantage of the area.

Sorry, but not that impressed! It was expensive and there was no cafe like advertised. Actually, my reason for staying there was the cafe. I just really hate when certain things don't work like the website says. It was dusty and dirty and no shade. People seemed nice enough, but really didn't seem to care.

We stayed in this campground for 3 days in mid November 2013. It's one of the few RV parks in the Sacramento area. Trashy full time trailers with crap stored under them. 2 trailers had 2 pit bulls each. The place was run down and just plain dirty. $50 per night is way too high for a dump.

We have stayed in over 450 RV Parks while traveling full-time in a 42-foot coach. This was our first visit here staying one night.
(1) Dust, some parks are so dusty that even after just a couple nights your unit needs a bath, the dust on our coach was very minimal compared to many other parks. The roads are paved.
(2) Level pads, big coaches need paved or thick gravel pads that are level. We give this park a 5-star rating for the level pad, but only a 3-star rating because the pad was gravel. This park has space between sites being average sized.
(3) We live in the age of WIFI technology and there is nothing to stop any RV Park across this country from investing in doing WIFI properly. For some users such as ourselves, WIFI is an important feature. This park receives 4-stars for their WIFI.
(4) Maneuverability, some parks have very narrow roads which make backing up and turning difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver.
(5) Satellite, as you know satellite reception is impossible to receive when there are large trees present. If you stay away from the sites with the tall trees to the south, you should receive reception here.
(6) Phone Service, we have AT&T which worked great here.
(7) This park has a huge off-leash dog park located towards the front of the park on the other side of the play area.

Walking is not really an option as there are three different freeways in the area you have to negotiate. There is a biking path which takes a circuitous route to get there, some of it alongside roadways, some of it dedicated biking path.
