Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, Napa Valley Lodge is a treasure for guests seeking a serene retreat close to vineyards and restaurants. The Lodge boasts spacious and pristine rooms, often celebrated for their views, though a few guests have noted a smoky scent from fireplaces. The cleanliness of both rooms and grounds consistently earns high marks, with the bathrooms receiving particular praise. Visitors revel in an array of amenities, including a delightful breakfast and an inviting pool area. The tranquil ambiance, enhanced by cozy fireplaces and a picturesque courtyard, alongside the professional service, contributes to the hotel's charm. While the value is generally appreciated, especially for the location and complimentary breakfast, some have pointed out periodic price increases.

My first stay at the Napa Valley Lodge was great. The staff is friendly and courteous. The check in and out process was fast and easy.

I stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard. The room was spacious and had a nice balcony that was perfect for relaxing and sipping wine in the late afternoon. The continental breakfast is top notch.

It is also conveniently located in Yountville within walking distance to the many great restaurants.

Just beware that there is no elevator on the property. So if you have trouble with stairs then request a room on the first floor.

We spent a few days here over New Year and we are so happy we chose to spend it at the Napa Valley Lodge. What a wonderful experience! We came based on others reviews and they were spot on. Everyone is so kind and friendly. The facilities are all very clean and the rooms are just as described. They have a turn down service which my daughters looked forward to every night. One New years eve, they left us party favors and a bottle of Chandon to enjoy. These small touches make people feel special, it costs nothing and yet it goes a long way. The nespresso machine and pods in the rooms is another nice touch. The complimentary water is also very small but an impression that means they care. We came to Napa from San Fran and stayed in a very expensive property and a bottle of water was 6 dollars. What does it cost to provide water and leave a good impression when you're paying such high rates. Anyway, this property is located close to everything you need to enjoy Napa, it's a nice walk to many restaurants and it overlooks a beautiful vineyard. We come to Napa every other year, we will return to this hotel over the others for sure. Thanks for a special stay!

Hadn't stayed here in many years, but Napa Valley Lodge offered a reasonable value for 5 couples exploring the Valley. We typically stay in Yountville so we can walk to dinner, and other properties had ghastly high rates. While not as centrally located as some, its a quick walk to the heart of Yountville, and the recently renovated rooms were quiet, comfortable and well-equipped, with many offering vineyard views. Improvised breakfast was good in todays Covid environment, and I appreciated them sending "reminder emails" each night to turn-in your breakfast request for the next morning.

As we had some challenges accommodating a group of our size at several wineries, the management was cooperative working with me as I researched options.

Dear Davidandrose1, Thanks for the detailed review, I am glad you had a nice retreat with your friends at the Lodge. It was great to see one of the goals of our renovation come true when you wrote "the recently renovated rooms were quiet, comfortable and well equipped". If you added you felt a European touch it would have mirrored our marketing documents! Times are challenging and our aim is to be a place of comfort and trust for you and your family to come to. We came to this hotel specifically for the pool and were sorely disappointed. I naively went to the front desk and asked where the deep pool was that I saw online, when I was told what I saw was THE pool I expressed my disappointment and confusion. The front desk woman then rudely told me someone called me a few days ago to tell me about the change in the pool. That was an outright lie. Someone did call a few days ahead of our check-in to welcome us in advance since it was our honeymoon and remind us the pool would be closed the day we were checking in. The pool closure for unspecified renovations was clearly stated on the website so we were well aware the pool wouldn’t be open on check-in day which was not a problem.

Cons of our visit include:
1. As another reviewer mentioned, the pool is now 3 ft deep everywhere and not the deep pool featured on the website.
2. There is not nearly enough shade or umbrellas on the pool deck. The umbrellas are too heavy to move and can’t pivot to keep up with the sun.
3. “Pool service” starts at an unspecified time in the early afternoon and has a disappointing selection. It consists of your choice of wines, 2 beers options, and 2 snack options (chips & guac or pita chips & hummus).
4. Our room was disgustingly damp. I’ve never complained about a hotel room before but I did here and housekeeping came to change our bed linens which helped. I think the problem is partly bc the air conditioning doesn’t run when the room is unoccupied and our room had been vacant for at least a week based on the note on the door proudly stating no one had entered the room since X date. So the room had been left without AC for days getting gross and damp.

Pros:
1. The courtyard grounds and landscaping around the pool are beautiful

Dear C4101ZEmaryh, I appreciate you choosing the Lodge and taking the time to share detailed information on your experience. I am pleased you enjoyed the work done with the landscaping and courtyard overall, we were not fully finished during your stay so it is good to read this, thank you. I am terribly sorry the pool was not appropriately explained, we have updated the language on our website two weeks ago to properly reflect the new amenities: "at 3 ft 6 inches, our pool provides even more standing space for afternoons spent relaxing in the water, while still deep enough for those morning laps". We also have updated a picture that had an outdated pool depth marker. It is true some amenities have been modified this year to adjust to the new environments we are facing. Still, this past weekend we were able to reopen our breakfast room with limited indoor seating and give access to our popular cappuccinos and lattes machine. Based on feedback from other guests, we also reintroduced yesterday our afternoon lobby cookies (now wrapped). Napa is typically a dry environment but a few days of humidity did take us by surprise I am sorry you felt that. We can and will continue to build on our solid foundation to improve our offerings to all our guests. Thank you for the understanding and the patience you showed to us, Respectfully, Max Compagnon General Manager

I stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful responding each and every need. The rooms were not only sanitized, they are 'sealed' at the door to make sure no one enters after cleaning until you check in and during your stay. Very well situated and walkable to all Yountville restaurants.
Definitely planning to go back

We stayed at the NVL for 2 nights. The rooms are newly remodeled, and are very comfortable. Down pillows, and cotton sheets. Amenities provided complimentary in the room are coffee, water, bath robes and slippers, shampoo/conditioner/body wash/ hair dryer/make-up station. We were welcomed with a personalized goodie bag with a couple of snacks, and room keys, and sheets to choose breakfast for the next day. Breakfast is included and they offer an array of choices and including mimosas. Everything is individually wrapped, and you can pick up your tray in the dining area. There are tables spread throughout the outside area as well as the dining room (all 6 feet apart). The dining room has a fireplace. Outside there are fire pits where you can sit by, and large cabanas by the pool. Towels are plenty. Bocce Ball court, and a dipping pool. They also have a hot tub. Both the pool and hot tub are accessible. Service was superb from the front desk to housekeeping to the dining room. We had a wonderful experience and this is definitley one of our favorite places to stay in Yountville.

Yountville is probably the best place to stay in Napa and the prices are according to it.

For two nights at Napa Valley Lodge with we paid a total of 1,500$ (breakfast included).

Napa Valley Lodge is a good accommodation, comfortable and very clean but you can only consider paying this price if you know Yountville is a bubble and you want to be there. The facility is ok but closer to 3* than 5*.

Be sure choosing a room with vineyard views otherwise you will see the pool and breakfast area.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and we do not have any concern about the hole stay but the price we paid is crazy.
Be sure you are paying for the good location and with that perspective you are enjoying a lot.

Due to Covid restrictions the breakfast is served in a tray that you have to take from a table where all the trays are waiting and after going to the breakfast area around the pool or to your room.

Dear FrancescA507, Thank you for choosing to stay with us while in the Valley of Napa. We appreciate you taking the time to give some feedback on the area and our Lodge. I agree the pricing on weekend in season is back to previous levels in Yountville, I hope you will see we are still offering relative value compared to other properties in the town. Our goal is to be a great place to stay, with a simple and genuine hospitality that reflects the wine country spirit we live in. Warm regards, Max

We took a chance on the Napa Valley Lodge and it ended up being perfect! We were looking for a clean, practical and convenient spot to spend the night. Unfortunately most places in Yountville will cost you an arm, leg and your first born. The Napa Valley Lodge was a very pleasant (and affordable!) alternative to many of the high-end 'resort' hotels

The hotel is located about 2 blocks north of French Laundry and another 2-3 blocks from Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty, Ad Hoc and a host of other places in downtown Yountville.

Portions of the hotel were renovated not too long ago and the place still has that "new" feel to it. Everything was clean and in working order (bathroom fixtures, TV remote, free Wifi, etc) Fresh towels are suppled at the pool / jacuzzi area, along with outdoor fire pits when the sun goes down. If you're driving an EV, they have a charging area in the parking lot.

The staff was friendly and SUPER helpful. We had a few small requests and they did a great job accommodating them all.

When we go back to Yountville, we are 100% staying here again.

Yes, you are right, Yountville blocks don t compare to New York blocks so our location in the north end is very convenient to just about anywhere in our quaint town. We hope to see you on a return trip. Cheers! Max

Second time staying at the Napa Valley Lodge... we love it here. The staff is wonderful and so accommodating. We walked into our beautiful room with a bottle of complimentary champagne and a card from the Lodge to help us celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

I requested extra towels and toiletries upon arrival and the staff was happy to make sure I had enough for our stay. I also requested different pillows during the stay ( yes they have options on pillow firmness)
The room offers a mini bar which includes beverages and snakes if if you want to purchase items for your convenience. There are many markets up and down the Main Road to shop as well.
They also supply a Nespresso machine with coffee pods so you can make coffee in the morning or throughout the day. They also provide robes and slippers for you to enjoy while you are at the lodge. In the afternoon, they put out cookies in the main hall. The breakfast is pretty large with a great selection;. Eggs, potatoes, meats, cheeses, fruit, oatmeal, waffle station, bread station ( with GF options) pastries and muffins, smoked salmon, cereals, yogurts and mimosas and coffee. they serve between 7 am - 10 am

The room also has a blowdryer, safe, ironing board and iron.
I would definitely recommend a room with a balcony and fireplace. we had a beautiful view of the vineyard and a walk out balcony. the fireplace in our room was lovely in the evening since the temperature does drop. I would recommend getting a room with one.

There is a nice size pool and hot tub on the property with beautiful seating so you can enjoy a glass off wine around one of their fire pits. they do offer towels at the pool for your convenience.

You can walk to the town of Yountsville. There are restaurants and wineries in the town. Also centrally located between Down Town Napa and St Helena for a quick car ride. Plenty of places to eat and shop I definitely would suggest making reservations for dinner and tastings as most places fill up fast. Most of the wineries need a reservation.. I prepared all well in advance knowing this and reading reviews.

Overall a wonderful trip and experience.

The Napa Valley Lodge is located right at the end of Yountville, but it's a quick 10 - 15 minute walk to shops, restaurants, and other amenities. Although it's near the 29 highway, you don't notice the traffic, and the rooms seem very well insulated from any sound. The staff at Napa Valley Lodge really go above and beyond to make sure you have a nice stay - even though there are lots of new hotels in the area, I don't think I'll ever give up my loyalty to the Lodge, for the price point, and outdoor area (firepits + poo), and fab continental breakfast. Not to mention cleanliness - something you absolutely look for in a hotel, I've never had a concern with this hotel and I'm pretty particular when it comes to that. It's also conveniently right between Napa and St. Helena / Calistoga, so easy to get everywhere.
