However, it's expensive and the staff isn't terribly accommodating.
They have tight payouts, high buy-ins for table games, and a lot of their video poker and roulette games are high buy-ins. It's a very greedy casino. We visited at least 10 casinos during our weekend and I lost the most money at The Lodge.
It's also not all that convenient for the CC/BH tram shuttle. If you're coming into Black Hawk from Central City, I recommend getting off the shuttle at the Golden Mardi Gras because it winds up being an easier walk. If you're leaving Black Hawk and going into Central City and want to stop at The Lodge, get off the shuttle at the Ameristar and just walk across the street.
I wake up Sunday December 31st, My family ventured out to get breakfast around Black Hawk, now anyone whom been in Blackhawk, is aware a personal phone does not get a good signal.
Here is the part that Frustrate me. I'm sitting at breakfast with my family, I get a missed call, from the Lodge Casino clerk saying my family's belongings has been taken out of the room "FRUSTRATING". I'm wondering why? Are my belongings taken out of my room. I immediately rush to the check in desk, only to be told, by the clerk we have your belongings, at this point I'm feeling violated, someone gathered my family belongings.
I was told on Sunday 31st December, it was a black out day! There are only 50 rooms in the lodge. " Why does this matter to me how many rooms are in this casino" I should have been told about this at the time of making the reservation on the phone and in person WHEN I CHECKED IN!😡
Now my time with my family has been cut short instead of leaving on the 1st, we left on December 31st, cause I was truly upset.
After I left I thought about it and realized that 2 machines were next to each other, and both were working, so I guess they are not thinking of Covid-19! Now I am glad I did not sit next to her because I am at high risk, but I am still very embarrassed and wondering if I should go back.
Their comp program is one of the worst Ive ever encountered. I’ve been there numerous times over the last couple years and their comp program said only twice. Contacted casino hosts about the card issue with only pit bosses seeming to support what I was saying. But the hosts not really having a concern for the issue. Always saying they’d get the card fixed but to no avail. Will never step foot in the place again!

Parking was easy, but it’s a long drive in to get to Black Hawk. It’s definitely worth a stop.
"The staff is very unfriendly and unprofessional I would recommend going somewhere else. "Read full review
