Nestled at the foot of the slopes, Grand Colorado on Peak 8 garners high marks for its impeccable service and pristine cleanliness that make guests feel well-cared for in a spotless environment. The prime ski in-ski out location is a hit among visitors, as are the extensive amenities, which include multiple pools and family-friendly activities.
While the rooms are generally lauded for their spaciousness, a few guests have encountered maintenance concerns. The atmosphere strikes a chord with its elegance and unique features like a grotto, though opinions on the hotel's value can vary, with some travelers finding room for improvement.

Detailed Reviews
Our experience at Grand Lodge on Peak 8 was perfect. We are owners there for a reason, and the experience you receive at this location is the reason. The guest rooms are spacious, even in a suite with 3 people and 2 dogs :) Housekeeping staff is very attentive and helpful to all needs, check in is seamless and they even spoil my dogs with cookies. Having the opportunity to ski in/ski out is so convenient. We were able to take a break in the room for lunch and save money, or check out one of the restaurants on site. There are so many amenities at Peak 8, and all are available to guests- movie theaters, pools, hot tubs, grotto (adults only), pool table, ping pong and chess, arcade, etc.

This is everything you need to know about the Grand Colorado at Peak 8 in a 45 second read. This was our family ManCation with my two young adult boys. First, the good. Pretty much everything! Check in was a breeze, less than 5 minutes. Exceptionally friendly staff at all our touch points. Clean and well maintained rooms and common areas. Our one bedroom, 1.5 bath was larger than expected, had a HUGE flat screen, soaking tub with separate shower, large bedroom with dresser, flat screen and closet that contained a safe. Take away: you don’t feel cramped, furniture was nearly new and of high quality, stackable washer/dryer, and all necessary kitchen amenities were present. All the “high end resort” boxes were checked. The common areas: Two BBQ areas, one pool side (I counted 6) and other off the east end of building two (four); there may be other BBQ areas near building 3. Each day the gas BBQ’a are scrubbed down and cleaned. Very low utilization of the BBQ – no wait. There are 3 outdoor hot tubs (one huge, two smaller (about 15’x8’), one was adults only (thank you) in the main pool are – there are others apparently at eh south end of building 3. Super cool property features: 1) They have a grotto. It’s a maybe 800 square room that is dark, plays soft music and contains a hot tub, cold pool, steam room and sauna. Very relaxing way to end your day. 2) They have private theaters you can reserve. And 3) they have a small rooftop bar with a gas fire pit. The very small bar closed at 9 and after that they don’t mind if you hand out and BYOB. Ample parking inside the building (free), that said if you have a full size SUV or truck, its really tight so be prepared to test your parking prowess.
The not so good: To be honest, not much to say here aside from two gripes. 1) Pet policy only allows Peak 8 resort owners to bring dogs. This is a lame policy – recommend that management amend their policy to allow other guests to bring Fido; charge a small fee if you have to. 2) If you want to smoke a cigar, you are relegated to the bench out in the parking lot. This again is lame. Other upscale resorts are making accommodations for cigar aficionado’s (Westin Kierland in Scottsdale to name one) by building a cozy, remote area for this guest segment. All in a great place to stay and I’d love to come back…..with my dog and cigars :-)

Best area to stay for a ski in/ski out experience. I do recommend searching other places besides Breck Sports for ski rentals. We seemed to have gotten bottom of barrel rentals for more expensive price. The resort has ski lockers (free) so no need to worry about having to store skis at Breck Sports (even though over night storage was full every day we were there). We had a rental car but the shuttle service was available to go downtown (5min drive) if you needed it. The kitchenette was nice to have in condo to save on food as you know eating on the mountain can get expensive. We were there week of spring break for a lot of TX people so slopes and lifts were crowded but staff helped facilitate and move you through lines. Grand Colorado concierge staff were awesome in letting us know about all amenities available on property. The washer and dryer on the floor was nice to have especially when you ski for multiple days and need to wash clothes. It was very economical to wash ($2) and dry ($1)!! I forgot washing detergent and the front desk gave some to me for free! If we go back to Breck to ski, we will stay here again!!

I like that there is a stop on the public gondola here. We used that to go into town. Our rooms were great and included everything we may have needed (glasses, hair dryer, robes, trash bags, etc.) so that was convenient. There are several activities to take part in (even in the summer) and most of the staff was very helpful. The hot tubs were great as well. I would return!

The customer service was awful start to finish. Check in was the wrong room a ground level room over the parking garage door at the back of the property. We were allowed to change rooms the following day but asked to pay a cleaning fee of 350$. Any time I had a question for the concierge I was asked if I was an owner when I responded no I was asked if I had an apt to be an owner when you say yes and you don't plan on being an owner the answer to any question is no. We were literally asked to move our car out of the garage on checkout day. If you know Breckenridge you know that we would have to drive to town and park and take the gondola back up to ski. We were told there were too many owners with day passes coming in and they needed the space. This is after spending 6K plus ! Also if you have that many owners and issues you are clearly oversold!!

This place is great for a family. With having kitchens in the room it allows for flexibility of meals and to not have to eat out all the time. My kids love the pool and theatre room. We always bring our mountain bikes to ride during the summer and fall, as trails are all around this property. It is always super clean and the kitchen comes well supplied with what you need to cook meals

My husband and I have owned here since before they started building. We love coming up here every chance we get. We feel so relaxed as soon as we pull into the heated parking garage, and feel we're doing our part with the environmental consciousness of the timed lights, water awareness, and recycling the facility has. The resort does a great job of taking care of the furniture and goods on the property. The concierge desk is very helpful, and almost everything we need is onsite. My friends stay with us and enjoy their time as well. The only downsite is the fact that we can't stay longer!

Our family had a phenomenal stay at Peak 8 during the week of Thanksgiving. The staff was very accommodating and the location was spectacular rolling directly off of the slopes. Our one bedroom made it easy to bring and store food, as well as cook up some tasty treats! It was also very easy to venture into the town of Breckenridge with the free gondola and walkability of the area. Our kids loved 'renting' the free movie theatres at Grand Colorado and watching some of their favorite flicks! Our family all enjoyed the aquatic features after long and tiring days on the slopes. It was so enjoyable relaxing in the various hot tubs! It was sad to head home at the end of our stay! My family and I definitely plan to book another trip to the Grand Colorado at Peak 8 again soon!

This was one of the most stressful vacations I have ever had. Juliana, the front desk manager, is rude, does not know the meaning of customer service and has no idea how to ensure a positive guest experience. We bought into the fractional ownership at the resort and our day experiences have been lovey, the concierge desk for owners are lovely, kind, and helpful. But move over to check in desk and it went downhill and ruined our vacation. They sent us to a room where 3 dogs ran out as we opened the door, then sent us to another room that had damage in it upon arrival and then tried to charge us $250 for the damage. Julianna has got to be the worst front desk manager ever hired.

Wonderful resort deserving of its elite status. If you don’t ski you can find less expensive accommodations with similar features at their sister lodge Grand Timber. BGV8 is best for skiiers who want convenience. If you do order a suite (2-4 persons) ask for one with a balcony if available. Also check out the rooftop lounge in Building 3 for some great view/selfies. For non-skiers the soaking pools and steam rooms are relaxing though the new grotto is not as nice as the previous BGV7 grotto (before the remodel).

Shuttle: not the ones I rode on. Not sure about the gondola
We did not have a pet but I saw a few small dogs there. I would imagine there is a size/weight limit but call them to make sure.
Many do! Your view may vary depending on which building and which side of that building your room is on. So far though we've had incredible views! From one room our view was overlooking the huge Ullr art piece on the plaza and you could look up to see the ski lifts and mountain tops. Another room's balcony looked out to the quiet residential street and included a gorgeous view of the mountain peaks. Both views were equally pretty.
