My rating is more like a 3.5. The hotel is average. You can tell there are elements that require updating but they're doing the best with what they've got. Their holiday decorations & fireplace made the lobby very inviting. The staff is friendly & thoughtful - we received a little care package for celebrating a couple milestones. They have a 'happy hour' on Friday evenings where they offer some cheese, crackers & meat with wine & cookies.
They have a nice, small community space with various boardgames and a hot tub. Though the hot tub is not necessarily located in the most inviting place. We had a balcony facing the mountains, but the road right in front of the hotel is busy so it's not the most inviting/relaxing space to hang out.
Their breakfast options were fine. They have microwavable egg sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, donuts, waffles and all the other prepackaged items you expect from a continental breakfast. I do appreciate that they offer fruit & some other snacks in the community space all day long.
Parking on Main St was a nightmare while we were there (Jan 3rd) and had to pay wayyyy too much to park in the parking structure for just a couple hours. I recommend parking at the hotel & taking public transit into the downtown area. There are many buses that take you to the Breckenridge Transit Center. The bus stop that goes directly into downtown is across the street. There is a crosswalk down the road, but if you don't want to make that trek, you'd have to cross 4 lanes of busy traffic with a median in the middle. It is possible to get across safely though when the lights line up correctly. We took the Green line to get back to the hotel from downtown.
Overall, I was expecting something a little more elevated so I was slightly disappointed with the property & amenities, but I'd stay there again now that I know what to expect.

We love staying at the Breck Inn. It’s a close drive or shuttle bus ride to the gondola and to us is an excellent value. They have a great breakfast in the common room and then the common room is open for use for lunch and dinner if you don’t feel like eating out. We brought in one night after a long day of skiing with the kids and it was perfect.
The staff is so kind and pleasant and the hotel overall just has a small homey feel. The kids love the hot tub and it’s never crowded. It’s not ski in/ski out luxury but it’s perfect if you just want a clean and pleasant place to stay.

Stopped in Breckenridge for the night for our anniversary and due recovery from an injury, could not walk around Breckenridge much but this hotel totally made up for that. It's a local hotel that is VERY well managed and we had a lovely room with a balcony and they even gave us a bottle of champagne which after being married a long time and not being able to do much, made the day extremely special. The rooms are well equipped with a good refrigerator and a small freezer and nice Keurig with plenty of coffee and tea options. They provide plenty of nice towels, toiletries, and if you did need a microwave, they have one in the breakfast area you can use at anytime and fruit and granola bars out 24 hours. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful and very well trained. The breakfast in the morning is continental but very well stocked with waffles and hard boiled eggs along with all the normal things. The bed was extremely comfortable and was a great stay all around. Will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Fair warning: If you're considering purchasing fractional real estate at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8 resort and you sign up for a promotional stay there, they instead hide you in this roadside motel. If I had been expecting these types of accommodations, they probably would've been fine — but as it stood, it did not have any of the amenities I was expecting (e.g., fitness center, pool), my room next to the road was so loud that I had to download a white noise app, the room was weirdly humid so I had to keep the balcony door cracked, and the lighting in the bathroom was so yellow that I thought I had a liver problem. The continental breakfast is only open for two hours and has nothing healthy available other than some bruised bananas. That said, the staff was friendly!

The place is clean, the staff is friendly. Not upscale.
The beds are a bit soft for my taste. The free breakfast is similar to other free breakfasts at medium grade hotels (waffle maker, microwave breakfast sandwiches, cereal, yogurt, etc).
It's not ski-in, so be prepared to pay to park downtown, or you can catch a bus to the gondola that runs once per hour.
Certainly not bad, especially for budget oriented visitors.

The property is very old and while the rooms have a fresh coat of paint, you can tell the amenities are dated. Beware, there is NO elevator, if you're staying on the second floor. The Staff is amazing and professional. Stay anywhere else.

We visited during an unusual time of year, but that doesn't have anything to do with the issues we saw. Post-pandemic understaffing has led to low cleaning standards (our room was covered in dust and was overall dirty) and maintenance issues. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but they don't have enough employees to keep up with the requirements to maintain standards. There is almost no noise control from room to room, or from room to the nearby road. I can't imagine staying here during ski season.

Breck Inn offered us a 3-day stay promo for a price that you typically don't see on the hotel market. The stipulation was that you would stay with them then view a timeshare tour at the Grand Peak 8 in Breckenridge. Our room was clean and they even allowed us to check in early after giving them a call earlier in the day. We did check out early due to the incoming snowstorm and we had no issues with the checkout process! This place may be noisy for some travelers as many are getting up early to be first chair on the slopes or coming back late after dinner/festivities, but that's what you should expect if you want to be within a 10-minute drive to the Breckenridge Resort.

The continental breakfast was mediocre at best. On our first morning, there was a box of fresh donuts available and breakfast sausage & egg sandwiches in the mini-fridge. There were no heating instructions and I microwaved one for 1 minute and ended up with a gooey mess. On our second morning, there were no breakfast sandwiches in the mini-fridge and nothing hot to eat other than waffles. There were left over donuts from the day before available. Stale donuts, really?
The patio door lock didn't work but our room was on the 2nd floor so it wasn't a concern for us.

small chalet style hotel on the busy, main drag going into town. No real amenities to speak of. Hot tub was locked in a cage-like structure. Ice machine wasn't working and the room was only partially updated. Hotel was used as place to house guests that were willing to listen to a time-share property in another location.

They DO have King beds on the ground floor but you need to request them.

Thank you so much for your inquiry about bringing pets to the Breck Inn. Unfortunately we are not pet friendly and only permit licensed service animals on property.
There is a fantastic local animal boarding house called "The Dog House" which is conveniently located 5 minutes from the property. They have a variety of options for caring for your travel companion, including making it easy to pick-up/drop-off throughout the day. You can learn more information online by searching "Breckenridge Dog House," about how to set up your pet boarding reservation.

Hi David, sorry we didn't get to see this earlier.
We do have a courtesy shuttle that runs daily from 8 am until 6 pm.
Our shuttle can take you anywhere in town, including the base of the Gondola or the base of peak 9. It runs on demand, so we don't have set times. Just stop by the lobby or give us a call and we will drop you off and pick you up!!
