We had a reservation but when we showed up we realized casinos here are nothing like we are used to in Louisiana. They are all just businesses along the street and at this one you have to go thru the casino where the hotel registration desk is smack in the middle of slot machines. It’s loud and with the staff wearing g masks it was almost impossible to understand what they were saying. The only loading/unloading area is around d the side of the building and the only cart they had was tiny, it would have required at least 3 trios to the car and back (we are on a monthlong road trip so have a lot of stuff). We went ahead and checked in so we could go see the room and it was practically bare, not sure where the photos here came from but the room we saw looks NOTHING like the modern room shown on this website! We decided to just eat the $100 and drape on to Manitou Springs where we got a more expensive room but SO much better! Not sure how this hotel got such a good rating...

We are sorry you did not enjoy our town or hotel. It is not for everyone and it is different than any other "casino" town in the country, located in a beautiful valley setting. We are a historic town and have maintained our historic buildings as casinos. We have updated all of our rooms and the pictures on Expedia and TripAdvisor for the Queen Interior room you chose are accurate. I am not sure if you were looking at some other rooms. All of our rooms are quite different and we hope to give our guests a great experience. We are always willing to help with luggage. Again, I am sorry you did not enjoy your visit with us.

When I first arrived I was in shock. I felt like I was in the wild wild west. Today I feel the same but I am in love with this place. The people who work the casino and who work the grill are the best by far! They are hard working, the sweetest and most caring. Very refreshing. The rooms are old but very quaint and very clean. You can tell all the employees take pride in running this operation. I'm going to hate to leave.

Wow. I would put our room up against any $300 a night spot in Denver. It has down home touches like a refrigerator instead of a mini bar, which I love, but has a great feature in our room that I want to incorporate into our bedroom now. The walk in shower has a glass wall with blinds you can open/close! Clean fun for the whole family! Photos don’t do it justice

We arrived early and asked for a room with 2 queen beds. An hour later we were in a really nice suite, a real suite, overlooking the main street. It had been fully updated and it was very clean. Beds were comfortable as well. Could not stay here in a wheelchair. Even with an elevator, There are stairs to the elevator. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend it.

Room 219 is beautiful! The bed was amazingly comfortable with the curtains being completely black out. The decor is very tasteful, there's a TV in the sitting area as well as one in the bedroom, and the glass shower has a rainfall shower head. Guests definitely need to be fully comfortable with the other occupants in the room because the shower is completely open with curtains to cover it for privacy controlled in the sitting area and a large mirror placed in the corner facing the shower with full view inside. Lastly, the breakfast prepared by Jason was amazing! The only "downside" to the stay would be terrible coffee & creamer in the room as well as in the restaurant. Loud noises from the casino ran into the morning hours, but... it's a casino. That should be expected. All in all, this was the best stay I had out of three hotels during my vacation!
