With the combination of the annual Cripple Creek Ice Festival and Valentines Day I was able to get a room within a few days of arriving. The hostess was very friendly and although the room was small and the floors a bit creaky it was a nice stay and the continental breakfast was just right.

Such character. We had a fabulous room on top floor with views over the city. We had our own bathroom although keep in mind they don't all have private attached baths. Nice continent breakfast. Very romantic. Super steep walk up hill from town but we did several times. Free shuttle if you can't walk that hill. Best hotel in town.

This charming establishment is my favorite place to stay. It is comfortable, but it takes only a little imagination to put oneself far back in the glory days of Cripple Creek. The rooms are appointed with vintage furnishings. One can appreciate the painstaking attention to decorating and upkeep.

My boyfriend and I took a weekend trip away and stayed here in room 3. Other than the dog barking across the street and the cable not working, this was an amazing getaway. The hotel was very comfortable if you like the historic aspect (which I love) and we felt very welcome here. Susan was amazing and talked with us...

We were looking for a place with charm for our brief stay in Cripple Creek. The Hotel St. Nicholas was it. Over 100 years old and restored with period antiques. The owner, Susan is delightful as was our evening host in the cellar bar.. Just 4 seats at the bar! Met locals with many stories on the area including the...

The Hotel building itself is very cool if you like history (and I do) and the rooms are comfortable. I like that it is not a casino, which is the reason I chose to stay here. I agree with the previous reviewer that stated that there are some needed items that should be worked on. Had they been taken care...

I have considered trying a different hotel in Cripple Creek but I just can't do it. St. Nicholas feels like home when we are there. We love this hotel. We have stayed here three times now. Twice in the hotel and once in the cabin. It is well taken care of, historic, and beautiful. There are several unique rooms to...

This is an old renovation of an old building. There was a lot of peeling paint, sagging sheet rock, poor shower pressure, creaky (really creaky) floors, could have been a lot cleaner. Some of the corners didn't look like they had been vacuumed in years. If the rooms had individual climate control, I never found it. Room was comfy but...

I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel St. Nicholas - this place is a true gem. The hotel itself is beautifully restored and each room has it's own unique character. We have stayed a couple of times here, and each time I am swept away in the old time charm - fantastic squeaks in the floor and real...

We enjoyed our stay here. We checked in with Don who allowed us to take a look at the rooms that were still available. We made a hasty decision and then found a better room for us and he was very patient and allowed the change. We stayed in the room on the western corner which was wonderful. It boasted...
