Most of the bedrooms are in the walkout basement. There is a central living area with fireplace, comfortable sofas and chairs. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms. Upstairs is the dining area with a patio off of it.There is a large tree with multiple bird feeders at patio level. Scattered around the outside area...

Walter and Jodi, the proprietors of Country Sunshine, were maybe the best duo we've ever encountered! The rooms were all very nice, and the property was awesome, surrounded by mountains in a valley, with a creek flowing right at the property line. Walter is an excellent chef! We meant to get to Purgatory by 8:30 every morning, but Walter's breakfasts...

Walter and Jodi are the heart of this beautiful B&B in this awesome setting on the edge of paradise. close to great skiing and town. Comfortable quiet rooms, fantastic food, (Walter is a great pastry wizard), and service from heaven. They treated my kids like they were there own, We plan on being regulars at this Shangri-La.

Walter and Jodi at Country Sunshine run a clean and comfortable establishment just outside of Durango- close enough to get into town easily but far enough out to enjoy peaceful breakfasts on the back deck. We used this location as a touring base for Four Corners, Hovenweep, Mesa Verde, Chimney Rock, Silverton, Ouray and Teluride which are all easy day...

This place is great. Stayed in The Golden Oak Room--just lovely. Breakfast & desserts were beyond expectations. Lovely home in the mountains. Offers a fridge full of goodies, a huge lit fireplace and a great evening dessert. Enjoyed all the guests. Walter and Jodi are wonderful hosts, would definitely go there again. Great pets too!!!

This is a tucked away B&B with about 10 miles north of Durango. It is rustic and comfortable with wonderful owners and staff. They are accommodating of individual dietary needs and serve a fine breakfast. It features large upstairs and downstairs sitting rooms with comfortable furniture, a refrigerator stocked with four different New Belgium beers along with water and non-alcoholic...

Hands down, the most welcoming bed and breakfast in the Rockies.... Inn keepers Jody and Walter go out of their way to make your visit a warm and welcoming experience. I can't imagine staying at any other place in the Durango area. Book early, as their hospitality is spreading and harder and harder to book a room........ 😊😊

Jodie, Walter and Nora went out of their way to make our three night stay pleasureable. The plusses? The Aspen bedroom was topnotch. Walter's breakfast creations, in turn, were as tasty as any that we have had in B&Bs. His mid-evening (7:30-9:00) desserts, though, along with ample space to socialize with the other guests earn Country Sunshine a value rating...
