I love this place, it's cozy and the staff are wonderful. The location is absolutely the best in Durango - smack in the heart of the historic district. I highly recommend this hotel for anybody visiting Durango.

We stayed before; asked for a quiet room as we were going to be travel-weary when we got there. The staff put us into 201 which had great bed and extra seating. The breakfast was good; newspapers available. Plenty of hot water; the elevator was still an adventure. Great location.

We stumbled upon this grand old 1800's hotel and are we ever glad. Staff was more than helpful and welcoming, the price was amazing but the amenities were outstanding. Plush towels, robe and clean, clean, clean. Situated in the middle of everything, we could walk to all of the shops, galleries and great restaurants (Ore House steak is the best.)... More

This hotel was nice, old style. Right in the middle of everything so easy to walk all over town. The breakfast was great. Plenty fresh muffins, scones, sausage, drinks. The only downside was thin walls so heard our neighbors (young people) often.

Clean, responsive staff, good breakfast. Beautiful old hotel inside and out. Within walking distance of everything in the historic part of Durango. We had a room near the Durango-Silverton train station and enjoyed getting to hear and see the old steam engines pull out. We also took the train ride. Hotel has a restaurant on property, Palace Restaurant. Enjoyed our... More

My husband was won over when he got a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie and excellent coffee before checking in. The lobby area has a lovely library and small sitting area to enjoy those. We had the King Executive Suite, and it was well worth the upgrade. This was one of the nicest rooms we've stayed in, including more than... More

Durango has a great history that is closely linked to gold and silver mining. To live a bit of history, we stay at this hotel whenever we're in town. The hotel has clearly be updated over the years, so there is an historic feel, but not the feeling that you're staying in an old building. It is very clean and... More

Excellent location half block from Silverton-Durango train station, right in center part of a fun downtown. Lovely linens, spacious rooms, but no windows for standard rooms- a disappointment ( or maybe a mixed blessing- in that our rooms were very quiet, and woo so with windows to the street get noise from traffic and music venues in town. Really recommend... More
