The hotel was very clean overall. The young man checking us in was nice, but did not provide us with any concierge information - like checkout time, amenities (jacuzzi rentals!), and he did not have any information about the music festival going on outside the door which was of great interest. Our room was nice. The antiques were neat, but...

The strater is a beautiful old hotel that had been kept up very well, its location couldn't have been better, close to all the shops and the train station.it was a little pricey in my opinion. My teenage daughter loved the twin bed.The breakfast was very good.

If you are looking for an authentic old west experience this hotel is the perfect place. The entire hotel is furnished with antiques (I'm sure many are reproductions) and beautiful light fixtures, etc. It's like stepping back in time. Staff in the hotel were hit and miss...the servers and bartender in the Diamond Belle Saloon were all great - happy...

Enjoy modern amenities while staying in the historic Strater Hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely glad you are their guest. Stop at the Diamond Belle Saloon in the hotel and listen to ragtime piano while drinking a local craft beer served by Old West costumed waitresses. This hotel has free parking and is in the middle of downtown...

We are in our mid sixties, from Florida and travel extensively. We stay in all price range of hotels. We have stayed at the Strater before. The hotel is always in top shape with nice linens and beautiful antiques. If you like historic hotels this is for you. The bathrooms are small, but that is to be expected. The staff...

Been to the Strater on several occasions as a guest and now as a local resident. If you visit Durango and need superior historic lodging do consider the Strater. The furnishings, environment, staff, food and especially the nightly music are not to be missed.

So nice, the rooms are great with amazing woodwork and each room has the name of a person on the door and inside the room a history of that person. (too cool) The lobby and both bars are fantastic. (we received 2 free drink coupons upon check in for the Diamond Belle Saloon that was nice) The hotel is in...

My husband and I came to town for a work conference and stayed at the Strater. I loved the old west feel in the bars downstairs, as well as in the room. We stayed two nights at this historic hotel, and while the room was on the smaller side, it was definitely not lacking in historical charm. It's right in the center of town making it a great location to easily walk to restaurants and shops. It is great for a night or two, and has a complimentary breakfast.
