We stayed one night in a king room. Room had a completely stocked kitchenette which was nice. Bed comfortable and room clean. Bathroom was showing signs of wear but it was clean. Even though we were next to busy highway we didn’t have road noise. Complimentary breakfast bar was good with a wide selection of food and servers kept it fresh and stocked. We utilized the washer and dryer room while here and found it very clean which was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Only complaint was the $10 parking fee which was for a parking space that was on their lot!!! But we paid it and stayed there so just be aware.

We stayed at the Residence Inn for 9 days. We are Rewards members and now have roughly 20+ days in various RI this year so we are well familiar with the properties.

Check in was kinda blah, to be honest. Staff didn't seem much interested in our being there.

Room size (studio) was as expected and nicely laid out. Kitchen items provided were good; some of the RI's have cut back on these.

Although our room faced the highway, traffic noise was well muted by the windows so no issues there. We were ground floor and did hear upstairs guests walking around.

The room needed a refresh. Couch is a bit thread worn, the toilet leaked and shower caulking flaking off. We didn't need it but the elevator is out of service, something mentioned in reviews weeks ago.

We had the impression there is a moderate amount of delayed maintenance. It's not terrible, but just needs the updates.

Didn't use the pool or spa but they looked clean. Workout room was okay, with a really hard floor.

Breakfast offerings were good and the staff handling the area outstanding! Always available, asking if we needed anything, smiling. This is the highlight of the hotel!

Now my bigger sore spot: Stop charging for parking! It's an insult, just feels like a money grab, especially in a place where there is plenty of land for the parking lot. We have really starting looking at this stuff as it adds up.

Location is great, walking distance to train and town in about 15 minutes. Also close to the River Trail, which is beautiful.

Will we stay there again? Not sure.

We stayed at this Residence Inn as part of a month – long road trip. We stay there for three nights. Its location is about 1 mile from downtown Durango on the highway which goes right through Durango. At times, it is hard to turn left in front of the hotel, but with patience it’s not a big deal. It was very easy to check in and out. The young lady at the front desk was very perfunctory, but not welcoming at all. The other staff and managers were great. When other guests were using the fire pit and making a ruckus after 10 o’clock, the on site manager closed it down very quickly. The room was large and clean, but with no view to speak of. There were several long-term guests who the staff seem to know very well. Breakfasts were excellent! They were freshly cooked… Bacon, scrambled eggs, tasty egg quiches, and the usual assortment of baked goods and juices. The staff kept the dining area clean between customers using the various tables.

While the hotel appeared to be trying to follow safe COVID-19 guidelines, there was a very large group of people staying at the hotel that completely ignored the “must wear a mask” signs. The people were all dressed the same in plain old time clothes and were constantly in the halls going to gather in the parking lot and on the basketball court. I don’t understand how anyone decides they get to break the hotel rules. The hotel employees obviously choose not to enforce the requirements. If your beliefs forbid you to care about the health of others, find a hotel that also doesn’t care. Other concerns were that tree debris blew in the back door and never seemed to get cleaned up. It was there the entire 5 nights of our stay. The sliding closet doors in our room were stuck in place making it impossible to use the closet. The road in front of the hotel is under construction which meant we could not turn left out of the parking lot. We had to drive 0.25 miles the wrong way and make a u-turn to go to downtown Durango. A big plus was that we could walk to the Animas River trail, to Albertsons, and to downtown.

Room was roomy we had 2 bedroom suite 2 baths great for families. extra TVs and kitchen to cook with all utensils provided and save money on eating out. There were some small flies by the windows. I sprayed them myself and problem fixed. Due to the whole Covid thing sack breakfast meals are handed out, fruit, cereal,b-fast sandwiches and Gluten free bagels are available. No managers reception as many of these hotels have, pool and fitness center limited amount of people allowed. Grounds are clean and feel safe well lit. Laundry facility is clean. Beds are comfortable and separate bedrooms provide quiet from the kids Select 3rd floor, quieter.

We just returned home from a four and a half month stay (Jan. 10--May 26), two senior ladies and our senior dog. I can't say enough about the hospitality extended by Manager David Smythe and his staff. These good folks made us so very comfortable. We enjoyed complementary breakfasts, an immaculate suite and common areas, immediate maintenance when needed, and maybe most of all, daily friendly greetings from all. Our two bedroom, two bath suite included a nice small kitchenette, and a fireplace in the livingroom. That was a warm and cozy place to watch the Olympics on TV and the snow outside our window (and later the flowers).
There is an onsite coin laundry, a tennis court, and a bbq/lounging area, plus a swimming pool, hot tub and small gym. Parking seemed adequate, and is close to the three entrances and the elevator. There are several restaurants close by. We mostly used our kitchenette, only ventured out twice to one across the street, once to Denny's. Throughout this long stay we had only good experiences, occasionally a minor sound of guests above us moving about, once in a while a bark or two, nothing disturbing. The Durango Residence Inn would be my choice again if I need an extended stay, and my recommendation to visitors coming to Durango.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We stayed in a king suite which has an actual door between the living area and sleeping area. The room was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels. Housekeeping is every other day, but plenty of towels and coffee to last 2 days. The hotel staff are very friendly. Breakfast is in a nice area and some different choices, which you can heat up quickly. You have to drive to get into town, but its not a long drive. Will stay here again.

Typical RI setup. Only has items in room for one day, as if they are being replaced daily (trash bags, towels, dishwasher fluid)... except there’s not housekeeping service. I asked for dishwasher packs at the front desk. “You ran the dishwasher?” was the incredulous response, and then they couldn’t find any. Set the rooms up with multiple dishwasher packets if you’re not servicing the rooms! Also- someone put a trash bag in the hall with... rotting diapers or broccoli? Both perhaps? That fetid bag sat in the hall for 12 hours and the entire hotel smelled awful for a day.

The check in staff didn't seem welcoming or caring. The room itself was old, and dark. The shower was tiny. I am 5'4" and weigh 110 pounds and I was touching the walls while washing my hair. The shower and the bathroom had black mold around the wall. The entire unit had poor water pressure.
The breakfast had decent selections including Gluten Free waffle maker that had a hand written sign on a ripped piece of paper next to the machine. Would not stay here again.

We had the best weekend stay at this property. The studio suite is so perfectly appointed with a full kitchen with dining table, desk/work area, couch and super comfy king size bed. Easy access off Hwy 160, makes it convenient to get out and about. No daily housekeeping service, but the room was so well stocked, we didn't need housekeeping.

Is your pet fee really $75?
Answer from David S
Durango, Colorado
Yes it is. It covers additional cleaning if we have to leave the room down for a night. We do extensive cleaning after each pet to ensure the room is set for the next guest that might have allergies.
