Untidy Room and very dirty bed sheets. No any well come and bad customer service. Not recommended for foreign guests. We had to wait outside more than one hour to go to inside. And the gate always closed and locked
The room we stayed in was clean and spacious and was exactly what in was looking for in terms of a simple place to stay on our first night. Down sides are that the security guard/might porter serves as your receptionist as really it is a serviced apartment. When we arrived the lovely boys who were having a break at subway had to explain to the nightguard what was going on as he kept telling me I had no room even though I had the booking sheet in my hand. There had been a confusion and there seemed to be a person in our room. Thankfully they'd just arrived and were able to stay with their friend in another room. It would of been handy to of had more instructions left in the room such as the Wi-Fi password and how to work the tv.
So I turned up as a single female, it was dark, they couldn't find my booking, actually there was no evidence of my booking at all. I showed the security out the front my booking. Apparently there is no office. The owner demanded I payed the security cash to be let in. This was without having evidence of my booking, my details were not taken, passport nothing. I had to leave early the next morning. The building was locked from the outside it took me 15 mins to wake the guard up. This place although the facilities were nice was unsafe and the way I was treated was a joke.
I stayed at Boutique Colombo for 3 nights just before Christmas. Upon booking, they sent me an email asking for full payment up front because it was a holiday period. It looks like there are just two rooms here, which share a kitchen area, on the floor above offices occupied by the operators of Boutique Colombo. The kitchen has hot water machine from drinks, a toaster, a fridge, an iron/ironing board and a few cups. No crockery and hardly any cutlery. I was given the key by someone from the office. After that, I was left entirely to my own devices. I asked if there was a gym nearby. He said he'd make enquiries. He took my local phone number and said he'd call me when he'd found out. He didn't. There's a maid who does the rooms. However there was a note in the room explaining that the rooms are only cleaned every three days and fresh towels are only provided every three days. There's one towel per person. So because I was only there 3 nights, my room wasn't touched. I only saw the maid when she was cleaning the other room after people checked out. In a cheap hotel or hostel this is normal. But for $44 per night you might expect more. There's a security guard at the entrance to the building. Rather bizarrely, he actually walked into my room one day without knocking when I was in my underwear! Why did he do this?? Apparently you can choose to have breakfast as part of your room rate (I didn't). Breakfast is actually a sandwich and a drink from Subway, the fast food outlet on the ground floor of the building. This may or may not be appealing! The room was okay. Big, but hardly anything in it. Air-con unit pretty noisy. Wifi so-so. Location is pretty good. Quite central for shopping, beaches and sightseeing. All in all, a slightly strange set-up. It was fine for me as a solo traveller for a couple of days but might not be to everyone's liking. …
It was located right above the only SUBWAY in Colombo. Though the address on Booking.com was not very helpful and there were no big signboards. But spacious clean rooms and toilet and great price. Very clean and the staff respond on mobile as there is no proper reception just a security guard.
