La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Glenwood Springs garners appreciation from guests for its prime location close to various attractions and restaurants, as well as for offering a delectable, complimentary breakfast. The hotel's rooms are frequently cited for their cleanliness and modern comforts, though noise can be an issue due to thin walls. While the service generally receives accolades for its professionalism, there have been instances of inconsistency. Amenities like the pet-friendly policy are popular, but some visitors felt the pool and hot tub areas were smaller than expected. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding it affordable and others considering it overpriced.

After a long day made worst by the closure of I-70 due to mudslides, it was nice to check in here. The hotel is located between two restaurants and we were able to get a take-out dinner late at night. The bike shop where my husband had a bike excursion reservation was just two doors down. The town's huge swimming pools are just a few blocks away and there is a lovely park with a playground, tennis courts, bike path and river access a few blocks in the other direction.
The desk personnel were consistently pleasant and helpful during our two day stay. This was the first hotel in 30 days where the cleaning staff knocked on the door to offer fresh towels or ask if there was anything else we wanted them to do.
Breakfast was disappointing. The OJ was warm, the breakfast potatoes were cold. The only fruit was a bowl of oranges. There were four hot dishes. The breakfast room was so large it looked like they must offer a better breakfast in non-covid times. Our room was small but it was off by itself in a strange corner of the hallway so perhaps other rooms are larger. Hotel walls are definitely thin and we could hear doors opening and closing all around us. Perhaps ask for a top floor room.

Oh, no! That I-70 closure sure had our roads closed and under construction for quite some time. The event made national news! We are glad you arrived safely and were able to enjoy the many activities our town of Glenwood Springs has to offer. I promise you that our breakfast options have improved since your last visit. We now carry a yogurt/fruit and nuts bar, waffles, and now 6-7 different hot meal options. Fresh coffee brewed all day long :) We do hope you find your way back to Colorado to enjoy the beauty and outdoor activities our town of Glenwood Springs has to offer.

Booked this mostly because of location to downtown GS and the Hot Springs. Easy walk (we were with an 84 year old too) to both areas. Easy check in but the girl at the desk in the evening, couldn't tell us about ANY restaurants or the hours of the hot springs or if they had.... Room was spacious and clean. Nice to have a little frig. Beds/pillows were WAY too soft for me(personal opinion), updated mirrors/lights in the bathroom made it hard to put makeup on for the women, LED lighting is nice but way to dim for the areas that needed it the most. Breakfast was pretty good and plentiful but no cold milk, Most everything was fresh or was coming out in a minute.
Points for the hotel: signs showing where the ice machine is, educate the front desk people, clean the elevators (Filthy)

This hotel is clean and has been updated within the last few years, though the hallways and elevators are dark and dreary with a musty odor. La Quinta needs to refresh them. The standard King is tiny. Go for the standard double queen. It is about twice the size, spacious, and they moved us to it for the same rate. If you like a hard mattress, then beware; the beds at this property are super soft.

The lobby has a real wood fireplace (as opposed to gas) which is a nice change. At this point in time, hot breakfast is being served by staff members in a large room with high ceilings on the lower level, and they seem to be following appropriate Covid protocols.

The front desk would not match the pricing on their website, so if you are a last minute walk-in and want to save a few bucks, you can make the reservation via the website and then check-in.

This particular La Quinta is nothing special but it is a good option for a one night stay in Glenwood Springs.

This LaQuinta is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. When we checked into our room, there was a big hole in the carpet. I took a picture of it and sent it to the General Manager. He never responded to my email. I am a GM at a lodge in one of the busiest ski resorts in the country. I would never let a guest check into a room with a hole in the carpet, and I for sure, would always respond to a guest's email, good or bad. We left a few pieces of clothing in the closet at check out by accident. Didn't notice for a couple of days. When I called them to have them send me my cloths I was told nothing was found. I know 100% that is was left in the room. Don't stay here - lots of other hotels close by to choose from.

We were driving through Glenwood with our dog and find La Quinta to be one of the most affordable motels that are pet friendly. Staff was nice and on our road trip, this was one of the more clean and comfortable motels that we stayed in. Would return. They also provided guests with their own hand sanitizers which was a nice touch during this pandemic.

My family checked in around 9pm sat evening the dining area had a large group being very loud, she gave us a room next to lobby, i voiced my concerns at check in, she said it will be fine and end at 10pm. 3 calls to front desk later, the noise continued unti 3am. The night manager did nothing. Foul language, cackling and drinking until 3 am. I paid $200 for a room which we got no sleep and was very uncomfortable, no offer to move us or even appologize. When we checked out i expressed my disappointment, the gentleman just looked at me and handed me my receipt.

We will NEVER stay at this motel again. We have stayed at many La Quinta Inns and have never been charged for pets. They snuck in a $40 charge for our pets and never told us there would be a charge for our pets. I did not see the $40 charge until I had returned home. Check-in was a nightmare. It took 4 attempts to check in with unreasonable times to come back because the rooms were not ready and very rude personnel behind the desk. The morning lady was very nice, but the afternoon lady was very rude and would not help us in any way to give us the room we requested. We never ate there so I can't comment on that.

I travel a LOT, and this is the first hotel I’ve ever stayed at where there wasn’t a feather-free pillow in the entire hotel (or at least a front desk worker who calls housekeeping to help hunt one down). My options are to go out and buy my own pillow or just be miserable and unable to breath for the next two days? Its a very common allergy to have which is why most hotels are extremely accommodating. I’m really shocked at the lack of options but also the unwillingness to even help a guest out.

You are charged $20 per night pet fee charge. You would think there would be a place outdoors to take your pet but its all concrete. I called front desk and was told that a park was near by. Its freezing cold, no way. My small dog is house trained and will not make a mess inside. They need to provide an area just outside made for our pets to relieve themselves. By doing this, this will justify the $20 per night pet fee. Overall, the place is nice, the breakfast is fantastic. But I will not stay here again with a pet. Its not pet friendly.

This hotel is very good considering the area and its closeness to the pool, if that is why you are there. It is not far from the main Down Town either, actual walking distance. We specially liked the Suite, due to its size, which gives you a bit of elbow room, at least it did for us with 3 kids. We had to switch in between the regular room and the Suite, therefore we experienced both rooms. The Suit seemed much quieter, maybe due to the fact that it is in the middle of the hotel, and there is less traffic towards the elevators, which are located at each end of the hallways. The closer you are to the elevators, the more noise you experience, but I suppose that is true in any hotel.

This hotel does seem to have hollow metal doors, which echo any noise from the hallway and amplifies it. Also, most rooms, if not all, have the pass through doors, which are used if you get adjacent rooms as one, however, that door seems to be even worse than the one in the hallway, even though it is a double door, each room has one that you can open from your room, but would need a key to get through the next. You can hear the people in the next room through that door, just like they were in your room. This issue seems to be attached to these kind of rooms, not sure if all the non-suite rooms have the pass through door, but ours did. The Suite does not have this issue, and it would be the best type of room to get in this hotel.

The only other issues we had was in the kitchen where half of the stove did not work. I suppose you are on vacation, so you can eat out a lot more, but that defeats the purpose of offering a kitchen. The hotel was full, so we were not able to switch rooms. Not the end of the world I suppose. The second issue was that the AC did not work in the living room area, the one in the bedroom had to cool both rooms. We were there in September and it was fairly cold at night, even though it did get in the 80's during the day.

Our biggest gripe with any hotel is that they allow dogs in the rooms, and this one is no exception. No matter how much you clean, there is always hair behind, which in my opinion is not acceptable. Don't look behind the couch or under it. If you are not a dog owner, you wont like it.

Speaking of the sofa, it is a sleeper sofa, but don't try to sleep on it. No human being can sleep on that. It definitely needs upgrading.

All in all, we enjoyed this hotel. It is a good value for what you get.
