I love these small ski motels in mountain towns. Silver Spruce is clean and comfortable, and felt very safe. We had a two-bedroom suite with a total of three queen sized beds, so everyone in our family could get a good night's sleep. And a bonus for the kids, they had a nice selection of pastries and baked goods for breakfast.

Stayed mid June 2020. The good: Beds were comfortable, clean towels and it appeared the sheets were clean. Due to Covid, you couldnt go in the lobby and no breakfast. Very close to the awesome adventure park
The bad: ice machine on our side was broken. The a/c grille was broken in the room. You can see light through the door edges. The bathroom door was black around the doorknob from hands and the corners of the bathroom floor was gross. For some reason the smoke detector was wrapped in plastic.

Good parking and friendly check-in. My wife asked for a ground floor room since there is no elevator at the SSI.
Fair to middlin' room. Clean, comfortable bed and pillows. The TV remote was on its last legs - turned the TV on, but had to struggle to change volume and channels. We had a quiet and restful sleep.
Lots of restaurants in the area. A couple within walking distance. Great view of the mountains and the cable car.
The breakfast was okay [no cooked eggs, juice or meat] - Number One Wife said it was the weakest coffee on the planet, but hot waffles, hard boiled eggs and numerous carbs.
All in all, is was okay.

I have 3 kids, two of them teenagers, so I appreciated that they have suite with two rooms and we can all fit easily. Staff was really nice, room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed our stay, breakfast was solid. I think next time we pass through we will stay here as well. We enjoyed chatting with T.J. at the front desk. Location is convenient for getting to hot-springs and restaurants in the area as well.

We booked through a third party, and our reservation was not conveyed properly to the hotel. When we arrived, they did not have a vacancy for our first night, but got us in for the other three. They looked up what other hotels had vacancies for our first night (so we didn't have to do it on a phone screen) and invited us to breakfast the next morning. We had a condo room, which was perfect for two adults and two teens who need a little physical and mental space. The kitchen was adequately supplied and the accommodations were clean. Housekeeping was very good. The beds were comfortable. Some of the furnishings and finishes are old, but you can tell that the owners really care and are doing what they can. A major roof renovation started while we were there. The condo is a great option to have the essential features of an AirBnB or VRBO (separate bedrooms, living room, kitchen) without the ridiculous upcharges.

Stayed at the Silver Spruce Motel last week with my family (6 nights in total). Stayed in the suite and absolutely loved it. Spacious and convenient room. Rooms were always cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. WiFi was fast and worked on multiple devices. Was able to stream videos as well as get work done. Breakfast was also great. Overall a very nice experience. Those working at the hotel were also very kind and understanding people. Great location (walking distance to hot springs/park).

We stayed for one night but would have stayed again. The room was plenty big and clean. A little older style wise but nothing that takes away from your stay. The only thing I didn’t like was there was no extra latch on the door, I just moved a chair to block the handle from being opened if someone had tried, nobody did. They offer breakfast but we asked for a late check out so we didn’t try it and slept in.

We were so pleased with our stay. It was just me and my friend on a "girls' getaway. The room was clean, updated enough to feel good, and the people were lovely. There is no playground, pool, etc so if you are looking for a place to hang out with the kids in the evenings this might not be your first choice. It was walking distance to everything in town. GREAT location! It is also walking distance to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs.

Despite their appearance in Trip Advisor as a PET FRIENDLY motel, they ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY. Read their policy. This should actually be a review of Trip Advisor and not Silver Spruce, as they are probably not at fault. Silver Spruce appeared as the number 1 hit under pet friendly, when price was selected as a filter.

Amazing hotel. Super kind people, Stanley and Alexandra are the best!
The only caveat or drawback is, if there’s no hot tub, and since they did the latest remodel, the TVs do not work. I would advise, bringing your own laptop, phone, book, but do not try and use their TVs.
