We saw beautiful fall colors at our campsite. The dirt roads were great for us and our grandchildren to bike on, and the beautiful Colorado River running around it provided exploration. Even though it snowed the second day, the snow melted quickly. Across from the entrance, we visited the Keewaneche Visitor's Center, a gem!

This resort is just neat! They have everything you can think of on the property! Want to camp and bring your own horses? You can do that! Want to bring your camper and use their horses? Sure you can! Want to just set up a time to take a leisurely trail ride into RMNP or around the area? Yep! How... More

We first went to Winding River, over Father's Day weekend. Every other campground in Grand Lake had no vacancy and we were able to get in from a cancellation. We went from Friday to Sunday and just didn't feel it was enough time. There are so many fun things to do there- fish, animal farm, pet the horses, ice cream... More

We stayed at the resort in the Winchester Cabin for a week in August and couldn't have been happier. The cabin is absolutely beautiful with so many cute decorations and the gas stove was an added perk. We had damp weather a few days so the full kitchen worked out perfectly. The kids love the basketball court, playground and especially... More

This is the second time we have taken a family vacation at Winding River Resort. The staff is great and there is a lot of things to do there, from horseback riding to atv rentals. We had an RV site as well as the Winchester cabin which was fantastic. The grounds are kept very neat. The only drawback is that... More

This facility is quite huge, which means that you won't be real cramped and have (some) room for privacy. Some sites have full hooks up (electricity, water, sewer), others only have electricity & water, while some are dry (none of the above). There are even sites with corrals for horses. The campground also features rental cabins, nice showers, ATV/UTV/Snowmobile rental... More

This is a very convenient location for visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Our campsite was large and accommodated 2 vehicles including RV. Site was downsloping requiring a bit of leveling. Water, electric and sewer connections were good. Horseback riding and pony rides available at this resort and the kids enjoyed the horses corraled in several locations around the park. Restrooms/showers... More

5 women and 2 tents.. 4 days- had a blast! Petting zoo, horse back riding, ice cream socials, security patrol at night. Store on property. Could not have picked a better location for tent camping. Everyone was nice and dogs are welcome! Will definitely return.

Stayed here 4 nights in a TT. Sites are level, connections are good, bathrooms are superior in every way, from cleanliness to water pressure. Staff is friendly & they don't micromanage the guests. Other campers were all very nice. The riding stables charge a reasonable price. The petting zoo, playground, beach along the creek, baseball diamond, volleyball court, tennis court,... More
