This is a decent, "Ma & Pa" type motel in Idaho Springs that is slightly "rustic" but clean and functional with good internet. Just don't expect to stay past 10am; their hospitality turned to "get out now" at 10am sharp!

Be advised : All lodging facilities have check in and checkout times. Check with office when staying or booking accommodations. The Columbine Inn posts it's check time: On entry door in all rooms. Thank you for your time writing and sending you review... Cheers, Sam Salter

STAY AWAY!!! Arrived to find room with stained carpet, blankets and sheets. (their colorful blankets obviously don't get washed very often. The carpet was falling apart and sharp metal was poking through. The kitchen was not available for use without an extra $50 deposit. We were awakened early in the morning by a dog barking outside our window. I called...

My fiancée and I stayed there over the weekend and just feel in love with the place. We had a King Suite with a kitchenette. It was so much fun to make breakfast in the room. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The room has a county/south western "motif" theme throughout, very clean, quiet and homey. The owner was very kind,...

The property itself is older but the rooms have been remodeled and look great. It was very clean and comfortable. The room was quiet and I would recommend it to everyone. There was a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. We enjoyed our stay.

Had everything you need in a place to stay for the night. Front desk was nice and helpful with questions. WiFi was great, bed super comfortable and had a little kitchen too. Probably had the most pillows I've ever seen on a bed but was great to be able to pick which one suited me.

Super nice people that run the hotel. Very homey. Hard to believe it is in the middle of town they are so well hidden by the nesting of the trees surrounding the place. My dates got mixed up and they were super nice on making sure I had a room on my way back home. I definitely will be staying...

This motel was disappointing. We arrived late evening and upon check in the front desk clerk asked us how many beds we needed one or two. We stated whatever was cheapest and his remark was the two queen beds but if you use both than there will be an additional charge. I paid for the room and whatever was in...

Guests arrived late, only 2 rooms left with 2-queen size beds in each. Asked for the "cheapest rate" so were given a "discount" for using 1 bed. (We do give discounts for multiple-day stays and repeat guests and random discounts such as this one). Also checked the faucets after reading this review and they are not switched (?) Suite provided...

Not much to choose from in Idaho Springs. Property was clean and quite. Hotel desk/window did not open until 3 PM. We got to there at 2PM (had reservations) and a sign indicated CLOSED/NO VACANCY, a little worried at this point. A not so friendly lady saw us standing around in the parking lot and finally advised us of the...

First of all, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am confused about the "not so friendly lady" in the parking lot, because that definitely does not describe my wife. She is an educator, and extremely friendly. Also, just for future reference, if our rooms are ready earlier, for example by 2PM, we often let our...

Large room, double sink bathroom with separate shower/toilet area. The largest availablity of outlets, mirrors & lightening I have ever seen in a motel room! Very cheerful innkeeper! Soft beds. Close to town.

Traveling from Iowa to Vegas got to Denver tried to find hotel that would allow pets at last minute before hitting mountains none would this hotel didn't have any pet rooms but made exception for us. The room was very nice and quiet. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for rest before hitting mountains.

Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your next visit. That is why Idaho Springs is called "Gateway to the Rockies' since many travelers stop by our small mountain town before traveling into the heart of our mountains. Cheers! Sam Salter, Owner
