I had a reservation for 4 nights at Magnuson Hotel in Manitou Springs, CO. My itinerary said check in after 3 pm. When I arrived, it was about 10:45 pm. The place was closed. I tried calling several numbers with no answer. The next day I called the hotel and was told that I was charged as a no-show. I asked for refund because I had no notification that they would be closed and also was at the hotel trying to keep my reservation. They didn't care at all that I would cancel the other 3 nights stay so that they could dig their heels in on the other 1 night. I have a copy of my confirmation and itinerary with no mention of a closing time. They would not budge, and when I asked for manager name, they gave me the name Hugh. I called Hugh when I got home from the trip, and he was extremely rude on the phone. I've never had someone who is supposed to be a professional talk to me that way. He was mocking me, telling me that he wouldn't give in to my 'whining'. I will never stay there, and would never recommend that anyone stay at this place.

I chose this hotel because my son and I had rented an RV van so he could stay in campgrounds and I was going to stay in hotels. The Pikes Peak RV Park is directly across the street and it was perfect for us. The hotel was older but it was clean and the people working the front desk were very friendly. Covid was in full swing so the breakfast was grab and go but there was a good variety of everything that I needed. Bed was very comfortable and the noise level was fine. Reasonable prices and I would stay there again if I ever get to go back.

We checked in and as we walked in the room we noticed part of the wall not painted completely. We only used the faucet so we didn’t think much of the water temperature. Early next morning we had no hot water. We called the front desk but no one answered. After 30 minutes someone called us back so we told him about the cold water. The light in the main area of the bathroom didn’t work either. The gentleman from the front desk suggested we go to the pool area and take a shower there. REALLY??? We said unacceptable considering the pool was across the parking lot and it was below 40 degrees across. The attendant said it was probably a pilot out on the water heater. After almost another 30 minutes later we were given access to another room to take our showers. We were told there was no telling when a repair person would be available to fix the issue. We checked out and got a refund. We also noticed other guests being relocated to other rooms. The mattress were so worn out there were huge dips in them. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

We stayed for two nights in the hotel. At first, we were concerned with the dating of the hotel with parking at the door. (Motel Style). However. We were pleasantly pleased with comfortable beds, updated rooms, and the safest towels we've ever used in a hotel. The only complaint was the lack of a larger breakfast. The staff were kind, professional, and friendly.

My family and I were super excited to visit and explore Manitou Springs until I booked a few nights at this hotel and we were robbed of our money. I booked the hotel for 4 days and needed an 11:00 check in. I chose the later check in time and everything was fine until I received an email from the hotel the day I was scheduled to arrive. They said they could not accommodate my check in time and that they were cancelling my stay. I CALLED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS NOTIFICATION TO CANCEL AND A VERY RUDE RECEPTIONIST SAID SHE WOULD NOT GIVE ME A REFUND. I was hung up on and called back the next day. Hugh, the owner argued with me for over 30 minutes claiming that I needed to cancel 48 hours in advance even though I had called to cancel within hours of receiving the email saying they could not accommodate my late check in. This hotel has THE WORST, THE WORST, customer service I've ever experienced at any hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE! OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!
