I'll start off by saying this: If you want the amenities of a city hotel, stay at a city hotel. Trapper's Lake Lodge is a rustic, back-to-basics facility whose purpose is to offer ample opportunity for outdoor recreation, comfortable back-country lodging, friendly service and decent food that is not only worlds away from but is far better than the usual...

Found Trappers a few years ago after many friends recommended the place. We could not have ask for a better experience for everyone in our party, there were 3 adults, 4 kids. Owners and staff were the best. Everyone went out of their way to insure we had a good time. And the best was the kids managed to survive...

Our whole family was able to get together, 20 people. We stayed several nights. We were able to put kids on the floors of the cabins after bears were sighted near the cabins. Bathrooms were kept clean and neat. Cabins were clean. We had a wonderful time. The staff was courteous and helpful. Would do it again.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Trappers Lake Lodge and Resort in Meeker. We had a wonderful time and found the staff and owners to be accommodating and very helpful. We enjoyed the rustic beauty of the place and the nice warm snug cabin. The meals were excellent and the homemade peach pie was the greatest. We were...

Holly, I want to thank you and your staff for the excellent experience I had elk hunting through your pack-in services this year. Also thank you very much for the accommodations of the wall tent and the great wrangling services of Ray and Delilah. Access to the Flat Tops Wilderness is amazing. I have been all over the Colorado backcoutry...

Trappers Lake, in the White River National Forest, is truly one of Colorado’s best kept secrets! The people, the scenery, and the fishing kept three generations of my family coming back for over 40 years!! Too bad the campground and so-called resort can’t hold up to the same reputation as the Lake and surrounding beauty! We will NOT return to...

We had a group of 14 visiting the Flat Tops, many for the first time. We had different desires--some camping, some staying at the lodge, some backpacking, some riding a horse. While not always completely accurate with the information (being told one hike was 13 miles when it's really 9), the staff was accommodating and helpful. The cabins and shower...

My son and I had been planning a backpacking trip in the Flat Tops wilderness for almost a year. Staying at least one night at the Trappers Lake Lodge was a large part of our plans all of this time. The Omain reason we wanted to stay here was because there is nowhere else in the area to where we...

I was camping and fishing up near Trapper's Lake last weekend(July 14-15, 2012). I was alone with my dog and went to Trapper's Lodge for use of the wifi to inform family I was safe(no cell service way out there). I found everyone so friendly and nice. Randy(I think I got his name correct) showed me the cabin from the...

I found Trapper's in 1974, long before the world knew it existed. I knew "Red & Mary" personally and no two finer people have ever graced this planet. Trapper's is not a "city folk" kind of place. If you're looking for 1000 count sheets, Hi-Speed internet, cable TV, and someone who will "jump" at your every whim, this is not...

“There was a big forest fire here in 2002 or 3 and all the trees are dead. They tell me this has improved the hunting because there is more forage and its easier to see.”
