Detailed Reviews
Arapaho Ranch is a wonderful summer family vacation. The scenery is wonderful. The location is secluded yet close enough to convenient shopping. The owners treat their guest like family. We have been going there every year for 11 years. We have many wonderful memories and look forward every year to creating more memories for our children to tell their children about some day!

I have been coming the Arapaho Ranch for more than a dozen years and love the seclusion, beauty and wonderful trout filled stream. The cabins are rustic, but comfortable. The sounds of the mountain stream outside is peaceful and sooothing. Though you feel like your are a 1000 miles away and seculed in the mountains, you are only five miles from Nederland with it's fun shops and unique resuraunts, and 30 minutes away from Boulder.
I have now stayed in cabins 2, 3, and 4 and honestly can tell you if one is better than the other. They are each unique and charming. I certainly don't miss a TV or telephone. And, if I need to check my email I just drive down to Nederland and hookup to one of the many free wi-fi networks.
I plan on returning to the ranch for many years to come.

We stayed at the cabins at the last minute and the owners were very accomodating. It was a great place for my son to fish, hike, explore... I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys just kicking back and enjoying a simple, old fashioned vacation.

We have been staying at Arapaho Ranch since 1990--15 of the last 17 years. Our daughter has grown up there and part of the charm is that you do become part of the family. The setting is spectacular and there are no TVs, the cell phone/blackberry doesn't work and you can actually relax. You can do as much or as little activity as you like.
The only negative I could give is, that as I have gotten older, the beds are not as firm and comfortable as I would like them to be, but it does not keep us from making the trip!

This place could not be a more perfect getaway! This is real Colorado.
The owners are friendly and very accommodating. The setting is magnificent with a stream running through the property. Only a few minutes from town, but miles away from traffic and noise. Abundant wildlife, amazing views, & trails right on the property. The cabins are clean and well maintained - the one we stayed in had a deck overlooking the creek. This is my favorite place to stay!

We spent 4 fabulous days at Arapaho Ranch 4 weeks ago this past September. It is truly breath taking. The scenery, the cabins, the wildlife, the fishing is all 5 star rated. Kayla and Mary Ann are wonderful hosts and make you feel at home immediately. We plan to make Arapaho Ranch an annual event. We took hundreds of pictures that we go through over and over and will treasure forever. We are so grateful to friends Carol and Scott for telling us about this wonderful place. Truly a slice of Heaven. . .

We stayed two nights at Cabin 3 and loved that location of that cabin. It's private with a nice deck, grill, and picnic table and a beautiful setting by the river. Pretty sure a bear was further down the walking trail so beware if hiking around. Read the requirements for staying there so you will not be surprised. There is no bedding and linens provided. You will need to bring your own sheets, towels, wash clothes, hot mitts, etc... The mattresses are older and not comfortable as are the pillows. Also the second bedroom was a kid metal bunk bed with equally uncomfortable mattresses and a ladder to reach the twin bed. For the price, the sleeping is poor quality and a third adult and dogs had additional costs, especially with the third adult up in a kid bunk. The cabins seclusion, the beauty of the area and close proximity to Nederland, Idaho Springs and Boulder make this a worthy vacation choice.

I first stayed at Arapaho Ranch as a kid in the 1950's. Returned with my kids in the 70's - early 90's. Met there two weeks ago with grandkids. A wonderful, scenic, rustic location with the Middle Boulder Creek flowing right through the grounds which are graced with ancient pine & spruce. Nice cabins and hosted by Kayla and Mary Ann ... who are terrific. A great home base for exploring mountain trails, ghost towns and regional sites/sights. If conditions permit there is a terrific campfire cookout on Monday evenings and a chance to meet other wonderful folks under the stars and singing some songs around the fire pit. Close to Nederland's eclectic shops and restaurants as well as Central City, Blackhawk, Idaho Springs, Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park and Boulder. Simply a glorious place.

We haven't missed a summer staying at Arapaho Ranch in years. Already have reservations in for three cabins for us and families of 2 adult children this year. Cabins far enough apart for privacy when one wants it, but close enough for large families. We have been vacationing in Colorado since the 1960's and have never found a location to match this. If you like birds bring bird seed, if you like fishing bring the poles, if you like animals, bring the camera, it is a game preserve. Wouldn't even think about staying any where else. The ranch is just a mile from Nederland, the is last unspoiled mountain town in Colorado, it is a trip back in time. If you have one, bring the Jeep, best jeep trails in the Rockies.

Yes there is access road to all cabins. the cabins have enough space between that you have privacy when you want it, but close enough that children can walk from their parent's cabins to Grandparents cabins (us) alone. there is ample parking at each cabin for the number of persons it would normally house.
Yes, dogs are allowed as long as they are crated when they're in the cabin alone. There's a grocery store in Nederland, about five to seven minutes away.
No TV ... but there is a rustic game cabin with the ability to watch an array of movies. WiFi at some locations. Breakfast and all meals is on your own ... this is not a full service lodge, but simply a terrific get-away. Beautiful river teeming with trout, trails galore and gorgeous scenery ... yet close to Nederland and it's array of local eateries and eclectic shops.
Kayla's parents Par & Lee Evans first started Arapaho back in the late 1940's. Kayla Evans and MaryAnn carry on that torch and tradition and do a terrific job. Her main house/cabin is within a stone's throw of the 10 rental cabins.
