If you're looking for an off-beat, old-time, boutique hotel in Ouray, CO, may we recommend the St. Elmo? We loved the settings, both inside and out at this family owned-and-staffed historic B&B. Although our room offered little in the way of a view and was small by 21st century standards, it felt authentic and reflected the period that pervaded when...

If you are looking for a safe, clean and affordable home away from home, this is the place. A quiet, calming and laid back atmosphere. Exactly the respite you'd hope to find. I always fear making reservations due to the fact you are never quite sure if the marketing of a business is as good as advertised. Most unfortunately, are...

We recently stayed in this delightful hotel around Christmas We were very impressed with the decor. All the rooms had been newly wallpapered and painted with a turn of the century theme. The rooms were a delight. Next time we will book a suite. Breakfast should be improved. We had dinner 2 nights at their Bon Ton restaurant which was...

Awesome owners! A father, a son, and a daughter offering friendly customer service above the rest. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Cleanliness is an obvious priority here as well. Located on the main drag in Ouray with all nightlife and dining within walking distance. No sense in looking any further if you want a great experience at a great price....

This is a great B & B set in the Rocky Mountains. It is family owned with David (owner and father) doing desk duty and all around good fellowship. We were greeted by the daughter serving wine for happy hour and offering good ideas for where to go for dinner. St Elmo's is the site of the 2014 TripAdvisor winner...

This 9-bedroom historic hotel has been nicely renovated in the not-to-distant past. Very nice Victorian furnishings throughout. Pleasant owners/staff. The room was very quiet even though it faced the street and there were other guests in the place. Very nice seating area overlooking the main street. Good wifi connectivity. Clean room and bath. Good breakfast. Overall, a very good experience.

We have stayed here several times through Ouray and been wowed. We were not this time. I understand that there are new owners - and the son and daughter are supremely nice. However - if you've seen Hotel Hell (Gordon Ramsay) you'll get what I mean! Rooms are pretty tired. We had been touring CO in the past week and...

With the St. Elmo's under new ownership and management, our stay there could not have been better. The Victorian charm is at it's best in the historic landmark hotel, and the views of the surrounding mountain range are never ending. Very clean room/bathroom with extra nice linens, towels, tissues, and other extras! A must return is already in the planning!!...

We booked a room at St. Elmo's ayer hearing wonderful things about it from family members that always stayed at St. Elmo's hotel wyeb visiting Ouray. We had great expectations after reading reviews in trip advisor. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed by our stay from the moment we walked in. Apparently this B&B was bought by a family from San...

Step back in time and relive the glory days of Colorado's col-or-ful past... At the St. Elmo Hotel in Ouray, Col-orado. Once bustling with gold and sil-ver seek-ers, Ouray today is a pic-turesque ham-let, sur-rounded by 14,000 foot peaks in the majes-tic San Juan moun-tains of south-west Col-orado. The St. Elmo Hotel is a lov-ingly restored, turn-of-the-century inn located in the heart of Ouray, Col-orado, a national his-toric dis-trict. Dec-o-rated with Vic-to-rian flair and full of period antiques, this 9-room Col-orado bed and break-fast inn delights guests with a wine & cheese social hour every after-noon in the cozy par-lor and a full buf-fet break-fast every morn-ing served in the sunny break-fast room. After spend-ing the day dis-cov-er-ing a new hik-ing trail or the fine shops in the area, a soak in the out-door hot tub is a great way to relax while sur-rounded by the beau-ti-ful San Juan mountains. ... more   less
