Just outside the town of Pagosa Springs, you have to drive to get to any restaurant, but the location itself is pleasant, with a small pond and place to sit and watch the ducks. We had a standard room, which was comfortable but nondescript; the inn also had cabins that are probably more charming and roomy. Highway noise is a...

This place is located a couple miles outside of town. We had a double queen room on the lower level facing the parking lot. The room was average and the beds fairly comfy. There's cable TV, fridge, microwave, hair-dryer and lots of hot water. You can borrow from shelves of DVD's and return them in the morning. there's also board...

It sounds like you had a great time while staying here, but it was a short visit. We hope you will come back, maybe in the summer when the weather is at its finest and there are so many activities that it's hard to decide what the next adventure will be! We enjoy helping our guests find the perfect hiking...

We recently stayed in the one bedroom cabin with our dog. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Upon arrival we noticed one of the outlets was not working which caused the mini fridge and microwave not to work. We informed the front desk and within 5 minutes someone was at our cabin to fix it. The cabin was clean...

We really enjoyed reading your review. It gave details that will answer a lot of your fellow travelers questions and concerns. You are right about the radiant heated floors-they are warm and comfortable for both humans and their canine friends. Our free breakfast has evolved over the years, based on the suggestions and preferences of our guests, and we take...

Nice place to stay about 30 mins from WOLF CREEK. GOOD BREAKFAST included Beds comfortable All staff were wonderful Shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and hope you will return the next time you are in our area of Colorado. To address your concern regarding the lighting-we are under new ownership, and new lighting is one of the items we will be addressing. Currently, most of the lighting we have is safety rated for low wattage...

Once we found High Country Lodge we never looked anywhere else. Clean room, pleasant and accommodating staff. The location is perfect for access to Wolf Creek for skiing. We have recommended this place to family and friends.

I had a great stay at the High Country Lodge over the Christmas Holiday. I stayed with family. The staff was friendly and helpful and gave us good suggestions for dinner and activities. They were more than wiling to keep our luggage after check out so we could spend the afternoon at Wolf Creek before our flight. The family enjoyed...

We are so pleased you and your family had a great Christmas at High Country Lodge. We try to provide old fashioned Colorado hospitality, along with a country Christmas atmosphere to make your stay special. Downtown Pagosa Springs is like a Christmas post card during the holidays. Combine all that with the wonderful snow at Wolf Creek Ski area and...

I had recently stayed here with a group of friends at the beginning of winter, and it was terrible. Upon arrival, we were not even greeted, just asked which room we were staying in. Excuse me, look up my buddy's name and YOU tell us where we need to go, and at least make conversation with your paying guests. Last...

We're really sorry you feel you had a bad experience here, but there is a problem with that--we have absolutely no record of any Biilly Sanders staying here in the last 12 years. Please contact us immediately as we do not allow our staff to ever treat anyone in the manner you described. We need to investigate this allegation thoroughly,...

We stayed for 4 nights over the Christmas period. Being called High Country Lodge I guess I was expecting a lodge rather than a motel! Our party had two rooms in the motel, ours was on the ground floor. The room just big enough for two queen beds, the decor was very drab and so,so dark. The bathroom was also...

We are sorry you feel you had a poor experience here. Holidays are always sold out, which means there is a large amount of guests here, and thus more noise. Booking an upstairs room or a cabin usually solves that. You booked online through our website early enough that upstairs rooms and cabins were still available, but you chose a...

we traveled there with family for a short ski strip. the rooms are extremely small and crowded. Thank you for writing, we are always glad to hear from our guests. We are under new ownership, and upgrades for both rooms and cabins are being evaluated. We have already added new bed quilts and bed skirts everywhere. Our guests have budgets and so do we, so upgrades will be added as our budget allows. Our rooms are a...

I use this hotel when I'm headed for Wolf Creek ski area. The hotel is just outside of Pagosa Springs. It's an older property but well maintained.
